Ultimately, I see Roger's ability to survive in the UFC as being dependent on whether he can fix his stamina and maybe improve his takedowns a little. It's OK that his striking sucks, but he needs to be able to win control-based decisions over 15 min like Maia did over Fitch if he wants to survive, because he can't rely on being able to submit everyone at this level.
Gracie definitely won the first round. There is no way Kennedy won that round under any criteria. He got taken down multiple times and he spent half the round with Roger on his back.
So annoying. I wish gambling was legal, we had a gamblers union and we could sue all the shitty judges for fucking us. That said, if won some bullshit decisions so i shouldnt complain. I still will though.
It is criminal how uninformed MMA judges are. After talking to some other clueless people, the only plausible explanation is that Kennedy was on "top" of Roger, even though Roger was on his back. I ran into a supposedly trained grappler that couldn't differentiate between being mounted and having guard. To him, they were both "a guy on top of a guy". So I can only assume that since Roger was underneath holding the back, the judges mustve seen "a guy top of a guy" and scored it as such.
