That was the fight to make. Here is the thing with Pettis vs Aldo, and it being called a "superfight":
Neither guys are draws. Pettis was the hometown kid at UFC 164 and they didn't even do a good gate.
Aldo can't sell PPVs that he headlines.
Nobody cares about Aldo or Pettis (yet) that aren't "hardcore" fans. Pettis has a higher ceiling than Aldo when it comes to this...Aldo won't ever be that big of a draw imo.
And why Pettis vs Aldo would be stupid as fuck: It ties up both divisions. Featherweight division has Swanson, Lamas, and Mendes right now that should get the shot soon. Poirer too if he gets another two to three wins. I'm not including Edgar here because he should get at least three more wins before ANOTHER title shot. In the LW division I feel that after Grant, there are more contenders too. Rafael Dos Anjos is ridiculously underrated and should get a #1 contenders fight next, maybe against Josh Thomson. You also have Melendez. Pat Healy. That Khabib retard if he beats Healy.
No need to keep tying up these divisions. Aldo vs Pettis wouldn't even sell 450k PPVs.Comment

The only way I support Pettis vs Aldo is if Aldo defends his belt against Lamas, Swanson, and maybe even Mendes again and vacates the belt. Thankfully Brandon Vera didn't win the LHW and HW belt like he said or else he would have tied up those divisions too BOL!!!Comment

Interest in MMA in general is down and has been for the past few years. As far as I'm concerned, it's a sport that belongs to the hardcores. The casual fans rarely show up, so fuck 'em.
Aldo/Pettis is definitely a superfight, in my opinion. And especially if one or the other moves to the others' weight instead of making it a catchweight. Why? Because NO ONE in the history of the UFC has ever held two belts at once. It has never happened. If one guy were to grab the other's belt it would be a big fucking deal. Historic.Last edited by SPX; 09-04-2013, 12:34 AM.I heart cockComment

I'm still not even sure casual fans know who Pettis and Aldo are yet. My brother is a casual and always watches Silva, GSP, Sonnen, and any HW main event.....that's it. I'm almost sure he couldnt tell me who Also or Pettis is.....and I'm 100% sure he has no idea who Mighty Mouse is2015 MMA BETTING CHAMP
