It sounds like you are searching for spiritual answers by hoping to find confirmation of some supernatural event. If there is something beyond this world, then there can be anything beyond this world... Personally, I go the other way. A lot of people try to make logic of scientific arguments to try to justify their belief system. I think it is better to just say that I fully recognize that my belief system does not make sense. It is not logical, rational, or anything else. But, I believe there are levels of human counsciousness and understanding that surpass the physical world. Call it instincts or whatever you will. Women want to have a baby, its just in them. Maybe it is a biological remnant of the evolutionary process. Or maybe it is just in them. In the same way, we want to believe in some afterlife. It is part of us. So maybe there is something to it.

On a side note, this has got to be the weirdest conversation I have every had in a Strikeforce thread.

Yeah, well you're right. I don't trust what people tell me, because people are telling people shit all the time, and they can't all be right despite the fact that often each person is just as convinced in the truth of their message as the next person. I mean, we have Baptists and Catholics, Mormons and Jews, Muslims and Buddhists and Hindus and Raelians and Zoroastrians and everything else that's out there. Oh, and you have atheists, too.

I also don't trust in intuition. Just because something feels right--or seems true to me--doesn't mean that it is. Because I have to recognize that for most everyone, they're belief system feels true to them. I also recognize that there was a time where Christianity seemed so OBVIOUSLY true to me and now it doesn't at all.

So basically, if there is any possible way to arrive at the truth to any degree of certainty, then I think you have to follow an investigative path. You can start with a hunch, but you have to see where that hunch goes and see if there's any evidence within the human experience to, if not PROVE that hunch, at least bolster it in a significant way.
