I think 30 pounds is a stretch .I would say they within 15-20 pounds of each other.

I know Penn weighed in at 167 for his second fight with GSP. It seems clear that he wasn't cutting weight for that fight.

I have no idea exactly what GSP weighed that night, but I do know that he at least claims to have come in on fight night between 190 and 200 lbs for his last few fights.

I agree BJ is probably the least likely to lose at his own weight but I personally think thats because he is in the weakest division. Who has BJ really beat that would be considered a top level fighter? Florian ? Thats it

You may disagree, but I'd say Sherk, too. At LW, Sherk is a monster, or at least he was in his prime. Before his fight with BJ his only losses were to Hughes and GSP, both of which were obviously at WW.

He beat Hughes, who was the #1 WW as well. He gave GSP a hell of a fight @ ww in the first spin as well. I think he is #1 LW, and probably #2 WW. I don't know that GSP would be the #2 MW. I think he would have quite a bit of trouble with big physical guys like Hendo and Marquart.

That said... it is more based on who I THINK is the best , moreso than accomplishments. Still can you think of even one LW that BJ would be less than -400 to? The #2 LW is Aoki. No reasonable person seriously thinks Aoki even sniffs BJ's balls.

I cant think of anyone he would be less than -400 to but the same can be said about GSP and Silva. This Edgar fight is the first fight Penn is very high odds,mainly because theres no left to fight of any account .

i dont expect all of us to have the same opinions on things like this

Silva opened at -370 against Vitor. Other than Vitor though, you're probably right unless Hendo were to magically reappear in the UFC and challenge Silva for the belt.
