Just watched some Kennedy vids. His grappling is obviously very good, but his striking is pretty shitty. With the way you guys were talking, I was expecting him to be someone who could hang on the ground until Jacare gassed out and then move in for a KO.

There aren't many guys in the world who can hang on the ground with Jacare without getting subbed. I think on his entire MMA record only two people have ever taken him to decision. Admittedly I don't know much about Kennedy but I wouldn't hinge a bet on him being able to last on the ground against a grappler as purely aggressive as Jacare. Dude put Randy Couture in major trouble during that Grapple X tournament thing they had and Couture has an olympic level greco base but even he refused to go down to the ground with Jacare if he could help it.

Villasenor spent a lot of time on the ground in their fight and made it to the end. Jason Miller did the same (and Kennedy is 1-1 against Miller). Their aggressive grappling is actually very similar. Kennedy is always moving, switching position, looking for subs. . . I think he CAN survive with Jacare. The question is will he, and the even better question is will he not just survive but actually win.

If you haven't seen them, you may want to watch his fights with Prangley, Thompson and Cummings. The vids are all out there.

I went ahead and dropped .55u on Kennedy at +190. I'd feel a lot better about that bet, though, if he brought some good striking with KO power into this thing.

I don't know anything about Chad Griggs, but he's 8-1 and has experience in the IFL.

Based on that alone, I think he might be worth a bet at the crazy ass line that's out there right now.
