Yeah generally, unless it is extreme. But I guess my thinking is that the best case scenario for Kim is that he hopes the judges like his top control more than Diaz's submission attempts and shit talking. So eveb if it all goes according to plan for Kim, he has to hope that Blatnick is not the judge.

That's what I am saying. Blatnick is a quality judge that actually understands the ground. If nothing is happening, the guy on top wins via being in a sligtly better position and via octagon control. But if the guy on bottom is controlling the fight from his back, he is not scared to give the guard player the round.

^ probably, but Grant is really the only guard guy that Kim has faced... and he is more of a butterfly to sweep guy. Diaz plays full closed guard, old school down and dirty style. I agree that Kim can probably stifle him based on his performance against Grant, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Diaz catch his guillotine (which is filthy) or a triangle or omoplata sweep.
