Yeah the 2 takedowns Shambari actually got shouldn't exactly overshadow the 6 or so he had stuffed.

I think it's an interesting debate over whether, even when a takedown if defended in a situation like this, if it should be the defender or aggressor who gets the credit, especially when the defender isn't throwing strikes a la Okami against Munoz.

I think if the guy is forcing the fight a place (either by getting takedowns or sprawling)... they have to do something with it. Ok, so you have the fight where you wanted it... you should get points deducted if you don't attempt to capitalize. I see it the same as a guy just pinning and not doing anything.

Why judges think a pin has any relevance on who is winning a fight is beyond me.

I know this is a sport, but my thoughts on this are that if it were a "real fight" then the guy on top can get up and walk away at any moment. The guy on the bottom cannot. So the guy on top gets the credit.

He is actually growing on me a little bit. I actually admire his loyalty to his lineage and how he never left his home gym when he became champ.

His personality just gets on my nerves is all. From all I can tell, he is a good guy, he just annoys me.

Yeah, he was never very consistent. I think he is sort of a head case. He will come out and look really good, then look like crap. He had that TUF contract, so he was probably costing them too much as compared with his peers. He was not a contender for anything, a good low level gatekeeper though.
