BJ claims he has never stopped training after his last fight. Here is an article to read. I am also considering him. Fitch by Dec + BJ Penn might make for a good ARB.Leave a comment:

Yeah, there are two scenarios I can definitely see happening, and they were the ones that were already discussed. I will probably end up just staying away.Leave a comment:

When it was first announced, I immediately thought BJ would win. He beats up guys that try to take him down, that is what he does. Hell, he even did to GSP once. And in that second fight, IIRC GSP didn't get him down at all in rd 1 even though he did try a couple shots. GSP kicked the bejesus out of Fitch just as bad or worse than BJ, but Fitch's cardio held up better.
But then I think I over analysed and starting leaning Fitch. BJ's guard is not the best, but he does have slick transitions and a great top game. But really what is Fitch going to do? try to Fitch him and win a decision via knees to the thigh? It has been tried before. Only GSP has been able to make this work. Fitch is good, be is not GSP by any stretch of the imagination. BJ has some of the best takedown defense in all of MMA, and he could easily slip around Fitch and get his back or something. I mean, Fitch lost a round to Pierce and Paulo Thiago. He nearly lost his fight with Diego, who is not much bigger than BJ, if at all.
My only concern is that BJ might not have the gas to take more than 1 round.
I think BJ will pull it off and I will probably bet it @ +150. At best it is a toss up IMO.Leave a comment:

That's the scenario I'm resting my hopes on as well. IF BJ wins, that seems to be the most likely way it goes down.I am actually leaning BJ now. Yeah Florian kept him on the cage, so did Diego. But they both got their asses whipped too. Fitch's striking is behind Florian's for sure. Maybe Fith can get him down, but it won't be easy. I think there is a good chance BJ busts him up standing and gets pressed on the cage some and wins a decision.Leave a comment:

Yeah, if Kenny Florian can keep BJ against the cage for tha majority of 3 rds, so cann fitch.I started to look at that fight but I got lazy. So, I don't have shit to say yet.
For this card, I only have a bet on G Sot right now. I plan to bet on Bisping and most likely Fitch. I don't see BJ getting anything done from the guard or getting a sweep. Fitch is going to be way bigger then BJ and will just plain out Fitch him. Even if BJ defends well, he is still going to be the one up against the cage, and you know how the judges score.Leave a comment:

Yeah, I really don't think Rivera wins this. It would be funny if he did though. If I were to bet on Rivera, I would wait for the (T)KO prop, because I highly doubt he can win any other way. But I will probably end up taking Bisping at his current line to win a unit.Leave a comment:

Bisping uses his wrestling a lot more than people seem to recognize. He has been going to the takedowns a lot. Of course, he has been getting dropped a lot too.
Re Noke/Camozzi- Camozzi seems to be one of those guys that is just tough, but his skills are not very refined. He can take a beating and dish one out, but he doesn't have a strong game anywhere from what I have seen. He is just okay everywhere and he doesn't give up. Somewhat like a Forrest when he was first in the UFC, but I would say Forrest had a prettty good ground game even then.Leave a comment:

I think Rivera's only path to victory is that big punch. I don't think he is going to land it because I think he is going to be on his back in this fight.Leave a comment:

I actually put a small bet on Rivera. Bisping is going to be respectful of his power but Rivera has a knack for finding his opponents' "off button". We know Rivera isn't getting knocked out seeing as the only guys to ever do it were Anderson Silva and Chris Leben and somehow Terry Martin's name is in there. Rivera seems to be that kind of guy who is always just outside the top 15 in the division but good enough to hang with most of the lower end of the top 8-15 range. I think Bisping has a difficult time with this one once he figures out he doesn't want to be within reach once Rivera starts throwing hands.Leave a comment:

Anyone looked at Noke/Camozzi? I have watched some of Noke's stuff and he has decent takedowns, a strong clinch, but the only thing that worries Me is he seems to have a hard time passing guard and really delivering effective ground and pound. I don't know much of anything about Camozzi though. Are Noke's takedowns good enough to grind a decision out or put him in position to land him a sub?Leave a comment:
