Thats cool Pat Barry is getting out there doing tournaments. It's funny because I was recently thinking about how P Barry is basically just kickboxing in all his UFC fights. That can only work for so long.

2 things:
1. respect to Barry for getting out there and trying to improve.
2. Damn, he fuckin sucks. It is almost impossible to believe he is still that shitty. Leads me to believe that he has not been training his ground. I mean, 3rd place (there were probably only 3 guys in the division), in a white belt regional tourney? That is incredible.2012: +19.33

Watched "The Hurt Locker" last night. I don't really care for the war movie genre, but it was pretty good. I don't really agree it was "best picture" quality, but it was pretty good.2012: +19.33

Why didn't those fat dudes have shirts on? That was a small tourney, looking at the results online, calling it regional is probably not accurate. "Local" would be more accurate. There were only a few purple belts at the thing, and most of the blue belt brackets had less then 3 people. Like I said, props for getting out there and swallowing his pride, but his ground game is an embarassment, maybe the worst grappler I have ever seen in the UFC.2012: +19.33

I just can't believe he can be that bad. I mean, even if he started training AFTER his first UFC fight, he should have more than 2 years on the ground in. Assuming he is even reasonably diligent in his training, he should be a high level blue belt by now. It just stinks of apathy. I heard the stories about him eating ketchup and whatnot a year or so ago, and I thought, "nice story, good on him for turning it around." But now I am thinking, "there is a certain kind of person that allows his situation to get so dire that he has nothing to eat..." and it is generally not the hard working, thinking man type. I mean, plenty of guys have jobs and train full time. He has no job AND he is clearly not working that hard.
I now hate him.2012: +19.33

he's athletic and has improved his takedown defense... as long as the UFC gives him favorable matchups, he will beat a lot of guys. He will probably hang around because his personality and style. As long as he never has to fight anyone with takedowns, he will be fine (he hasn't had to fight a takedown threat yet- he has faced 3 kickboxers, Hague and Beltran).
I don't believe his bullshit ketchup story either, now that I think about it. I deal with people that have no money or job all the time... there is free food everywhere.2012: +19.33

Some people are too proud to resort to public assistance. I had a friend who would literally eat, like, a potato for dinner or whatever because that's all she had, and she did that for a while.I heart cockComment
