I looked at all the typical "worst" places: Phiily, Detroit, D.C., Orlando... nowhere comes even close to Gary in the Murder department. It is 3x worse than Detroit. And what makes it worse is that it is som damn small, only 100,000 people... anyway, I recommend a visit if you want to see a true wasteland. It looks like an apocolypse movie.2012: +19.33

Srsly, that is just the downtown, which I would describe as the nicest part of the city. There is literally not one building with all its windows. But there are some little crackerbox neighborhoods around... Michael Jackson grew up there. There are about 100,000 people still living there (not counting all the crack addicts squatting in those buildings). At one time, it was a decent place I guess. Then it was a gang war ground, then everyone just left, now it is a bunch of crack addicts huddling in abandoned buildings. I have been to E. St. Louis several times, I have been to Detroit. Lol Pripyat isn't that esoteric, especially after it was featured in Modern Warfare.
I love looking at worn out abandoned shit like this. I'm not sure why, as it's depressing to look at, bu I find it fascinating.
The 'ghettos of Detroit' videos on YouTube are awesome, where this guy just drives through miles and miles of abandoned urban shit. I also saw this video one time where somehow there was dumptruck on the fourth floor of some abandoned factory in Detroit, hanging halfway out the window. These teenagers came in and worked like all summer on it, trying various methods to drop it out the window and into the street. ^^ well there is the issue, I had to google "Modern Warfare" to confirm that it was a video game.
As for Detroit, I would say it is the worst city I have ever been to aside from Gary. Thing with Detroit is it is so much bigger and there are drunks in the streets at all hours of the day. But there are also some decent parts of Detroit, Gary is 100% fail.
East St. Louis is somewhat bad, but nearly the level of Detroit or Gary. Plus it is really small, not even really its own city. I actually went to a casino in East St. Louis and they had .50c tables.2012: +19.33
