Its damn near impossible to make much money strictly betting spreads, or at least I sucked at it. Nfl is really unpredictable too. College is slightly easier imo. This year theres like 5 or 6 teams head and shoulders above the rest and they havent played many tough games. I probably wont be doing the parlays deeper into the season, or if i do it will be tougher to find teams.

Sorry I was gone for a bit. I been on a real shitty streak over the last 4 weeks, and this past weekend, the way some of those losses where for me, just really put me over the edge.

Losing definitely sucks. I know that when I go into a bad slump I certainly feel it in a serious way. I get pissed and depressed and just don't even want to THINK about MMA or betting or any of that shit. Shit always turns around though, eventually.

Luke is doing very well betting football this year and I think he made money last year, too.

I don't know who Billy Walters is. I didn't say that no one could beat it, just that you really need to be a special bettor to beat those sports over a long period of time- I think you would need to be some kind of football savant or maybe someone who studied every player on every team and put a ton of time in... Coming up postive after a couple years is not that amazing though. If the lines are accurate, almost half of the bettors would come up positive just at random.

I do pretty well in the NFL and Baseball overall. I am horrible at basketball though. I had one horrid year where I dropped about 5g's betting baseball though, but that was more money management issues then actually losing bets.

I don't know, maybe I am overestimating the complexity of it. I would tail someone if I knew they were winners... but I know as much about football and baseball as anyone else who watches, and I actually played both sports in HS. But there are 22 guys out there, and only one of them has screw up to mess up your bet, and all of the guys are really close in terms of ability... it just seems pretty damn random. Look at your Eagles this year... why do they suck? No one knows, they just do.

Baseball, even the best teams only win like 60% of their games. How are you supposed to guess who will win on a given night? Like I said, maybe I just don't understand the games or maybe I am making it more complicated than it should be.

Then when you look at the amount of knowledge I would imagine you would need to beat these sports, to think you could beat 2 or 3 of them- that just seems like it would take a team of guys. I can hardly keep up with MMA, and I put a lot of time in. No way I could squeeze in another, more active sport too.

He just hasn't updated that shit. He's made more betting football this year than he has lost betting MMA.

Yea I have had three bad losses recently. Whenever I lose a bet I tend to try to regain it back with bets I normally wouldnt make on sports I dont know much about. I lost about 700 dollars on some strikeforce challengers card a cpl of months ago. Lost the first 4 matches on the card when all i planned on betting was the main event which i won. The other one was the fedor vs hendo card. lost 800 or so on fedor due to him getting stopped. And then last week or two weeks ago i guess, i bet the under 30 in the tampa gm and tried to hedge it with indy winning and indy plus 4 which were both losses, then bet detroit in gm 4 which put me down like 260 then bet nyy in gm 5 to make my money back. Anyway impulsivity is a bitch. I usually wont go over -400 now and prefer for my bets to be under 300. This way its not a huge hit when i lose. The parlays I play also cause me to pay attention to a bunch of games so that Im not tempted to bet them individually.

I think I am OK at MLB betting when it comes to picking winners semi-consistently...but I am a loser in MLB this year due to the whole money management thing. If I didn't try to bet big on a few games that didn't work out my way, I would be doing well.
