Interesting, I didn't know they were still making those. I used to watch the Poirot Mysteries.

The style and tone of the series has changed to some extent. I actually didn't even know about them until recently, when a friend mentioned them. I believe the first one I watched was Third Girl, when it premiered on PBS last year. (Get this: Since I don't have cable and can't get antenna reception in my apartment, I actually had to find a justin.tv PBS stream to watch it. Isn't that some shit?)

I've since watched several others, but I find the older ones kind of difficult to watch. Not sure what it is, but they're just not the same. I've had a hard time getting into them.

Anyway, like I said, download some of the newer ones if you're curious. I'd suggest starting with Third Girl and Halloween Party. Both are pretty new so you should be able to find torrents fairly easily.

They also had a good Sherlock Holmes series with Jeremy Brett. I liked the Cadfael series, too and looked them up on YouTube not that long ago.

I have not seen those. I know that they're running a new Sherlock Holmes series though (just called "Sherlock," I think) that's been getting a pretty positive reception.

Have you ever seen "Gosford Park"? I recommend it if you like the "Early 20th century British murder mystery" genre.

I love Gosford Park. Great film. Engaging story, excellent cast, and excellent directing from Robert Altman.

It's one of those movies you either love or you hate, though. I suggested it to my dad and he said it was one of the biggest wastes of his time that he'd ever encountered.
