I don't really care for the fighting style of either guy and I am know we are going to be looking at 5 rounds again. I used to like Edgar's style a lot, but anymore his plan seems like it is to win a decision... Maynard hasn't finished a fight yet in the UFC and Edgar has 8 decisions of his own. I like guys that take risks to win fights. I don't mind decision fighters as long as they are trying to win it.
Not saying the fighting style is not valid, but as a fan I don't really get into it.
As for the previous fights, I don't think they were that great. Several rounds in the last fight were 10-10ish because neither guy would commit.Leave a comment:

Why are not interested in it?
1. It's a title fight.
2. These guys have unfinished business, and there's drama in that.
3. The last fight was balls-to-the-wall awesome.Leave a comment:

I am probably the only mma fan that doesn't care about this fight, but with both of them injured that means we will see it eventually. I would have preferred to see one of them injured and Pettis get his promised shot instead. It does ruin my magic parlay though...
It probably means that Torres will get bumped up to the main card where he should be and we will get props on that fight though, so I can add that.Leave a comment:

It was probably my most anticipated event for the foreseeable future.
Fuck these fighters and their too-common injuries!Leave a comment:

This is garbage, I was looking foward to that fight. Rampage/Hamil sucks as a main event.Leave a comment:

UFC president Dana White confirmed to MMA Fighting that both fighters are out.
According to sources with knowledge of the situation, Edgar broke ribs, while Maynard suffered a knee injury.

Thanks for the insight. Browne's cardio wasn't terrible in the Kongo fight so I don't expect him to gas too hard, but who knows.Leave a comment:

Rampage should win that IMO. Hammill might be able to get some takdowns, but I don't think he will be able to hold him there.
I don't know what to think about Browne/Struve. I think Browne may just go berserker on him and drop him. But if Struve survives the initial onslaught, he'll probably win.
I think Mir wins, but it a jard fight to cap and it is close to even for me. Nelson took everything JDS dished out, I doubt Mir will stop him there. I so think Mir is a better striker though. Neither guy will submit the other. Roy's takedowns are not that great, but Mir gets sucked into the clinch game alot... he is not a stick and move guy. I got nothing here.
Torres is going to win. Don't forget that Torres went to work on his wrestling like a mad man, even giving back his black belt because he couldn't wrestle. He is with GSP's trainer now, and he looked a lot like him in his last fight.
I think Grove wins that, but Boetch does hit like a truck and Grove has been napped several times before by power punchers just winging shots. A hail mary punch is the only way I see Boetch winning though. Grove is no joke on the ground, I think he will have a good chance at submitting Boetch if he tries to gnp.Leave a comment:

How do we really know? The last time we saw Rampage having to wrestle (Rashad and Machida) it worked out poorly for him.Leave a comment:

I think that Hamill hits deceptively hard. Most of his wins are by (T)KO. Rampage has a good chin so I don't see him going out like that, but it actually wouldn't shock me.
Nog looked like total shit in that fight and CC has been getting fucked up by everyone lately, so I don't really see those wins are great testaments to any KO power beyond what most all heavyweights have naturally. I am with you on the Kongo punch, though. That was nice.Leave a comment:

Well it's not like Rampage just forgot how to wrestle/stopped training TDD (I am assuming the 2nd part but it's probably true). And I don't really think comparing Tito to Rampage worksLeave a comment:
