      Prairie Meadows - Race #4 - Post: 7:21pm - Claiming - 6.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $13,000 Class Rating: 77

      Rating:

      #1 MACHO RONNIE (ML=5/2)
      #3 K C ROCKET (ML=7/2)
      #7 LUCKY'S SECRET (ML=4/1)

MACHO RONNIE - Jock jumped on this gelding's back for the 1st attempt on May 18th. Should know the animal even better in today's race. No need to look any further. This pony has my money. Way too much speed. Hornsby drops him down to this class level. You don't need too much more handicapping data to believe this horse will be tough to beat at this level. K C ROCKET - Possibly a peak effort for this gelding today. Been getting closer with each recent start. I think that a sprinter coming off a layoff will usually run his best in the 3rd or 4th start back. LUCKY'S SECRET - A big drop down in class figure points from his May 9th race at Prairie Meadows. Based on that element, I will give this horse the advantage.

Vulnerable Contenders: #2 GODDESS OF WAR (ML=3/1), #4 PRINTS MONEY (ML=6/1),

GODDESS OF WAR - Difficult to put any dough on this mare on the front end. Likes to finish in the money though. PRINTS MONEY - Looked good on May 3rd, finishing first, but no morning activity since is a bit troublesome.
STRAIGHT WAGERS: Play #1 MACHO RONNIE to win if you can get odds of 5/2 or more
      EXACTA WAGERS: 1 with [3,7]
TRIFECTA WAGERS: Box [1,3,7] Total Cost: $6
      SUPERFECTA WAGERS: None

        RECOMMENDED CHOICES
        # 5 DREAM ON 7/2
        # 2 OUTRUNNER 7/2
        # 1 CANDYTOWN 5/2
DREAM ON is the most respectable bet in this race. Casse has this colt racing well and is a very good pick based on the strong Equibase speed figs garnered in route races recently. Recent figures for the jockey - 18 win percent - make this colt stand out in this group. Looks respectable against this group and ought to be one of the leaders. OUTRUNNER - Has to be carefully examined based on the very strong speed fig posted in the last outing. Duarte has a strong win percent with horses racing in turf route races. CANDYTOWN - Overall the speed figures of this equine look very strong in this contest. Should wake up with Lasix change (now going off Lasix) today.

          RECOMMENDED CHOICES
          # 5 VEKOMA KID 7/2
          # 14 SOUPER CRUNCHY 10/1
          # 6 ZEVON 6/1
I like VEKOMA KID here. With a nice Equibase class rating average of 92, has one of the most competitive class advantages in this field. Black has this colt moving well and is a quite good selection based on the very good speed figs put up in route races as of late. Should be given a chance as he drops to compete against this easier group. SOUPER CRUNCHY - Has performed soundly as of late in route races, posting a nifty 76 avg speed rating. Garnered a competitive Equibase Speed Figure last time out. ZEVON - He should definitely be considered given the solid speed figures. Looks competitive for the conditions of this affair today, showing solid figures in turf route races lately.

            Santa Anita - Race #2 - Post: 1:32pm - Claiming - 6.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $14,000 Class Rating: 78

            Rating:

            #5 WHISKEYINATEACUP (ML=2/1)

WHISKEYINATEACUP - I think that a sprinter coming off a layoff will usually run his best in the 3rd or 4th start back. This animal is tops in earnings per start. He looks nice in today's event. Last raced at Los Alamitos (Quarter Hor carrying 6 lbs more. The lower impost right here should serve him well.

            Vulnerable Contenders: #4 NAFTIS (ML=6/5), #2 UPLIFT (ML=4/1), #3 SIX HOT GRANDS (ML=5/1),

NAFTIS - Tough to like the downward spiraling flow (83/73/68) of Equibase speed figs. This gelding hasn't had any recent good results in short distance contests. No picnic to bet on him in this race. UPLIFT - No picnic to bet on any horse in a sprint event if he hasn't hit the board in a sprint in the last two months. Awfully tough to wager on this questionable contender when he hasn't been showing any indications of eagerness lately. Registered a mediocre rating last race out in a $5,000 Claiming race on May 10th. Not likely to see an improved performance off of that fig. SIX HOT GRANDS - This horse hasn't shown much life in the last pair of contests. The Brain tells me to keep away from ponies in short distance races that haven't finished in the money in short distance affairs of late.
STRAIGHT WAGERS: Play #5 WHISKEYINATEACUP to win if you can get odds of 1/1 or more
