PROBLEMATICA - The most dangerous animal in racing is the lone speed horse. If they let her get away early they probably won't catch her. Barrera gets a break on this horse carrying 6 pounds less than last out. Could make the difference right here. CURLIN'S MAGIC - This mount is in great demand coming off two claims in her last two starts. Don't overlook this mare in your gambling today. MY FIRST LOVE - Last ran at Aqueduct and finished fourth. Reviewing her handicapping information, I see she was close at the end, within five of the winner.

Mark this horse as a possibly overvalued contestant.

I think DAME GINA MARIE is a competitive pick and is a decent value-based bet given the 8/1 line. Lately Oconnell has provided bettors with a quite good winning percentage with horses running in dirt sprint races. With a reliable 67 average speed figure at the distance, seems well suited for today's contest. BLAZING AFFAIR - Has to be given a shot against this field displaying competitive numbers recently and an average Equibase speed fig of 75 under similar conditions. Recorded a strong speed rating in the most recent race. Can run another good one in this contest. DI CAPRI - Looks very strong versus this field and should be one of the front-runners. Always good to invest in a trainer with this kind of solid win percentage - 15 percent - at this distance & surface.

Has been running strongly and has among the most competitive speed in the race for today's distance. SMOOTH BREEZE - This selection will feel the med change - on Lasix today. Should keep the good string of finishing positions intact this time out. EVER DANGEROUS - Ought to compete strongly in the early pace contest which bodes well with this group. Can't overlook the connections here, a 29 winning percentage, one of the strongest at getting into the winner's circle.

MALA - He'll be laying in stalking position, right behind the early pace. This horse's last race was at Del Mar in a race with a class rating of 98. Dropping considerably in Equibase class figure in today's event puts him in a solid position in this field. MOTHER'S PRAYER - Taking a class drop in Equibase class figure points from his November 28th race at Del Mar. Based on that data point, I will give this horse the advantage. Just look at his last speed rating, 89. That one fits in this bunch. 60-66-89 are last three speed figs. Improving each time out is something he should do again in this event. AUTISM PUZZLE - I'm optimistic this gelding will run well today. Last work was 2nd fastest of the day, which tells me he's sharp right now. You always have to be on the prowl for profit making rider/conditioner combos; we have an instance right here.
