Calhoun has a solid 20 percent win rate with entries running at this distance and surface. His earnings per start in dirt route contests alone makes you take a look at him. ICE'M UP BOYS - Is a strong contender based on numbers posted lately under today's conditions. Could beat this group of horses in this race given the 75 speed rating earned in his last outing.

MORNING MIRACLE - Is a definite contender - given the 88 speed rating from her most recent race. Should be considered here on the basis of the numbers in the speed realm alone.

UPSTRIKER - Generally accepted handicapping angle - 3rd or 4th start after a vacation generally leads to a big effort. Going to run a good one. The March 14th race at Fonner Park was at a class level of (88). Dropping down the ladder based on class rating points a significant amount, so he should be in a good position to win. Another way to determine class is earnings per race. This mount has the top in the bunch. I think he'll be close at the finish. NORTHWIND - Fackler and Condon partnered with one another are a punter's friend. I like the way this gelding's finish positions have gotten better with each start recently. A sign of a thoroughbred coming into top form. This gelding is in nice physical condition, having run a strong race on Mar 21st, finishing second. FLAME ROCK FIRE - Popular handicapping angle - 3rd or 4th start after a layoff generally leads to a big effort. Today could be the day. This front-runner should be aided by this race's shorter trip. Breaking from the inside, this horse should have a distinct edge. His front-running style should serve him well in this short race of 6 furlongs.

PASS LINE - Tough to put any dough on this gelding on the win end. Likes to land in the top three though. This mount ran a somewhat easily forgotten speed figure last time around the track. He shouldn't show signs of improvement and will probably get beat in today's event running that number. TRUE JEDI - If you keep playing these sort of 'hanger' types, you're going to be disillusioned most of the time. The speed fig last time out doesn't fit very well in this contest when I look at the class rating of today's race. Mark this animal as a vulnerable competitor. OREGON COUNTY - Finished fourth on March 28th after the extended vacation. Doubtful if there will be improvement in this affair. This gelding finished off the board on Jul 18th and wasn't near the winner in the last race either.

QUINT'S BREW - When a thoroughbred finishes on the board as often as this gelding does, you will usually want to use him in your exotic wagers. Jock hops back aloft after getting to know the race horse by riding last time out. That's always a positive sign. RATED BY MERIT - Rider jumped on this colt's back for the initial time on October 4th. Should be in touch with the equine even better in today's contest. This colt's last race was back on October 4th but I do believe he can run a good one coming off a vacation. I took a look at this colt's finishes. He's almost always on the board. Based on this colt's recent efforts, he should benefit from this contest's shorter distance. POINT DUME - A little change in scenery has got to do this horse well. Reading the PPs, it seems like he likes to visit the winner's circle on different tracks. This gelding's last rating is high enough to score here, I'll play him back again this time.

BOOK'EM DANNO - This gelding hasn't had any recent accomplishments in sprint races. I find it hard to wager on him in this race. I think this morning-line choice needs this race under his belt to start getting back into shape. Don't feel this horse will make an impact in today's event. That last speed fig was mediocre when compared with today's class rating. BE YOU - This racer ran a disappointing speed rating last out. He shouldn't run better and will probably get beat today running that rating.
