Oregon -5 Over Wisconsin 50 Dimes
I think Oregon's team speed will be a huge factor this afternoon in Pasadena. RB LaMichael James and QB Darron Thomas will be a huge test for Wisconsin's defense with their amazing speed and elusiveness. Defensively, the Ducks are undersized compared to Wisconsin's massive offensive line, but many forget how an undersized TCU defense held them to 19 points during last years Rose Bowl. Look for Oregon to roll in this one.
Predictions: 42-28 Oregon
Houston -7 Over Penn State 25 Dimes
Georgia -3 Over Michigan State 20 Dimes
South Carolina -2 Over Nebraska 20 Dimes
Florida -2.5 Over Ohio St. 15 Dimes
For PSU, both quarterback Matt McGloin and wide receiver Curtis Drake are out today.
After the game head coach Tom Bradley will be out also.
McGloin will be replaced by Rob Bolden (they shared duties during part of the season).
Bolden's completion rating is 42.1 %. He has 1 touchdown and 4 interceptions.
Although highly recruited in high school, he doesn't seem to have a good grasp of the game.
When the scandal broke at Penn State, they had just beaten Illinois, who was at the beginning of
a 6 game losing streak, and then played an emotional game against Nebraska, which ironically
would probably have been Coach Paterno's last home game.
They won their next game against a mediocre Ohio State team, that has their own problems, and
then were crushed by Wisconsin. They have scored a total of 7 points in their last 6 quarters of play.
They seem to have no heart left.
The Houston Cougars made us so much money this year, but played poorly in their
final game against Southern Mississippi (after the defense looked good against Tulsa the week prior).
The arguments against Houston are that they played a much easier strength of schedule,
and have lost their head coach to Texas A&M. Kevin Sumlin has been replaced by Tony Levine,
who seems to have his team in order.
Normally I would go for the better recruiting program and the deeper roster, but not in this game.
Houston will probably have problems with PSU's defensive line, but other lesser teams
have been able to score on them also.
