BYU +127 over VIRGINIA TECH Pinnacle
Great spot for the Cougars to come in here and leave victorious. Va. Tech will take a one-game break from tough ACC competition after its biggest win of the year over #17 Virginia on Sunday. They have Maryland and Duke on deck and those games are much more important than this one. The Hokies are just 12-7 on the year with a whole bunch of wins over weak opponents. That 47-45 win over Virginia was its first ACC win of the year and it was a hard fought and emotional one. BYU plays in the lesser known West Coast Conference. That conference has three strong and potential tournament teams in Gonzaga, Saint Mary's and BYU. The Cougars might be the best of them all. They're ranked 4th in the nation in points with 80 per game, 17th in rebounding, fourth in assists and 19th in FG percentage. Those are some serious late January numbers and it's not like the Cougars haven't played anyone. Aside from WCC competition, they've also faced Nevada, Wisconsin and Baylor. Teams from smaller conference always get amped to play the “big boys” and BYU catches an average Hokies club at precisely the right time. Play: #769 BYU +127 (Risking 2 units).

We're also playing the following games:

          DePaul +9½ over RUTGERS Pinnacle
Play: #777 DePaul +9½ (Risking 2.02 units to win 2).

ST. JOSEPH'S -2 over Dayton Pinnacle
          Play #766 St. Joseph's -2 (Risking 2.16 units to win 2).

4-STAR GOLDEN STATE over Portland - Golden State is a great team to have on a team playing their fourth game in five nights as Portland is here. Look for the rested Warriors to take advantage.

With a single game road trip here, don't be surprised if Portland comes out flat as they often do in Golden State. The Warriors are 12-0 ATS (8.4 ppg) since April 15, 2005 at home versus the Trailblazers.
Portland won at home last night, 97-84 over Memphis. They overcame 20 turnovers. The League is 0-10-2 ATS (-7.7 ppg) since April 11, 2009 as a road dog with no rest after a home win in which they had at least five more turnovers than their season-to-date average.
Defense helped, holding Memphis to just 3e7.8% from the field. The Trailblazers are 0-7 ATS (-8.9 ppg) since March 07, 2004 on the road with no rest after a home win in which they allowed less than 40% from the field.
The big key though was a 30-13 margin at the free throw line. The Trailblazers are 0-8-1 ATS (-8.1 ppg) since March 05, 2009 as a road dog after a win in which they scored more than 25% of their points from the free throw line.
Gerald Wallace had just seven points but 11 boards in that game. They were led by Lamarcus Aldridge with 23 points. The Trailblazers are 0-7 ATS (-6.8 ppg) since March 27, 2011 on the road after a win in which Gerald Wallace was not the Trailblazers' high scorer.
Golden State lost to that Memphis team Sunday, 91-90. They led by 16 entering the fourth quarter. The Warriors are 7-0 ATS (10.8 ppg) since February 04, 2006 as a home favorite off a loss in which they led at the end of each of the first three quarters.
They had two more baskets than Memphis in that game but made just five free throws. The Warriors are 9-0 ATS (11.6 ppg) since January 16, 2009 at home with at most one day of rest after a game at home after a loss in which they made more baskets than their opponent.
SPORTSBOOK BREAKERS PREDICTION: GOLDEN STATE 105, Portland 93

4.5-STAR Charlotte and Washington Under - We saw last night that without DJ Augustin, Charlotte's offense really falls apart as they have no one to run things. We don't see how having no rest can help things here.
Generally they do not score much when they travel to Washington anyways. The Bobcats are 0-6 OU (-7.2 ppg) since January 10, 2009 on the road versus the Wizards.
In that 111-78 home lost to the Knicks yesterday, they had 13 turnovers but just 10 assists with no real point guard. The Bobcats are 0-10 OU (-10.3 ppg) since March 03, 2010 after a loss in which they had more turnovers than assists.
This will be Washington's first game without Flip Saunders. They lost Sunday night, 103-83 to Philadelphia, allowing 51% from the field. The Wizards are 0-14 OU (-11.7 ppg) since March 02, 2009 at home with at least one day of rest after a road loss in which they allowed at least 50% from the field.
One bright spot in that one was committing only nine turnovers. The Wizards are 0-10 OU (-10.1 ppg) since January 02, 2010 after a double digit loss in which their field goal attempt per turnover ratio was at least eight.
However, the Wizards were held scoreless on three-pointers in that game. The Wizards are 0-9 OU (-10.1 ppg) since March 02, 2009 at home after a road loss in which they scored less than 10% of their points from the three-point line.
SPORTSBOOK BREAKERS PREDICTION: WASHINGTON 91, Charlotte 82

4-STAR Chicago and Indiana Under - You pretty much know what you are getting from Indiana as they've only scored or allowed 100 points a total of three times this season. We think it's going to take Chicago a little bit of time to adjust to the missing the scoring efficiency of Luol Dang against good defensive teams and with a lot more Ronnie Brewer, that give them more of a defensive focus.
Chicago comes into this one as winners of four straight, the last two at home. The Bulls are 0-6-1 OU (-12.1 ppg) since March 15, 2011 when they won their last two games and both were at home. Indiana meanwhile got routed at home last night, 102-83. They had 19 turnovers but just a measly eight assists in that game. The Pacers are 0-11-1 OU (-12.0 ppg) since May 02, 2006 as a road dog after a game at home in which they had more turnovers than assists. Also, the Pacers are 0-7 OU (-17.7 ppg) since December 01, 2003 with no rest after a game in which less than 40% of their baskets were assisted.
Danny Granger and Roy Hibbert shared top honors for Indiana with 16 points each, with Hibbert's coming in 29 minutes. The Pacers are 0-7 OU (-11.6 ppg) since December 20, 2008 with no rest after a loss at home in which Roy Hibbert played fewer than 30 minutes. Also, The Pacers are 0-5 OU (-14.7 ppg) since April 13, 2011 after a loss in which Danny Granger was the Pacers' high scorer.
There other scoring big man, Tyler Hansbrough, scored eight points off the bench. The Pacers are 0-6 OU (-13.9 ppg) since January 19, 2010 on the road after a loss at home in which Tyler Hansbrough scored fewer than 10 points.
SPORTSBOOK BREAKERS PREDICTION: CHICAGO 89, Indiana 83

4-STAR Detroit and Miami Over - Last night's game was a bit of an aberration for the Heat. They scored just 92 points and that was after 31 in the fourth. After two straight games like that this total will represent real concern that they can't score the same without Dywane Wade but they will be able to score plenty tonight.
Miami allowed Cleveland to shoot 50% last night in that 92-85 win. The Heat are 7-0 OU (11.3 ppg) since December 21, 2004 with at most one day of rest after a home win in which they allowed at least 50% from the field.
With 18 points, Lebron was not Miami's high scorer as Chris Bosh came out with 35 points. The Heat are 4-0 OU (17.2 ppg) since December 29, 2010 on the road after a win at home in which Lebron James was not the Heat's high scorer.
Detroit lost Sunday, 99-79 to Oklahoma City. After being a real offensive asset for a few games, Tayshaun Prince had just nine points on 3-of-9 shooting. The Pistons are 10-0 OU (13.6 ppg) since January 09, 2010 after a loss on the road in which Tayshaun Prince took fewer than 10 shots.
That matched the rest of the team's performance, as they went just 34% as a team. The Pistons are 9-0 OU (12.9 ppg) since November 21, 2009 with at least one day of rest after a road loss in which they shot less than 40% from the field.
They were at least getting shots on most possessions as they committed just nine turnovers. The Pistons are 9-0-1 OU (11.4 ppg) since December 28, 2002 at home with at least one day of rest after a game on the road in which they had at least five fewer turnovers than their season-to-date average. Also, the Pistons are 6-0 OU (16.4 ppg) since March 28, 2010 with at least one day of rest after a road loss in which they committed fewer than ten turnovers. SPORTSBOOK BREAKERS PREDICTION: Miami 104, DETROIT 99
