10 Dime play on Drexel as the home favorite against Georgia State. As I release this play at 11:30 AM Pacific, the Dragons are -5 in Vegas and offshore.

Drexel is a tough defensive squad that hits the boards hard. But Bruiser Flint's Dragons sometimes struggle offensively. Such was the case in their first meeting with Georgia State back on January 2 when they dropped a 58-44 decision in Atlanta as a five-point dog, a game where they didn't help themselves by committing 23 turnovers. However, since that loss Drexel has reeled off seven straight wins and covers, part of a 13-1 overall run. And the team didn't get caught looking ahead to tonight's rematch when it hammered William & Mary 64-48 on Monday.

Georgia State carries a three-game road losing streak into the contest. They've all been close, but losses nonetheless as the Panthers have fallen by identical three-point margins at Delaware, Northeastern and George Mason, all Colonial Conference foes.

This game pits two of the top defensive teams in the conference against each other, but payback and the cover goes to Drexel as the Dragons hold onto the ball in the rematch.

                      Game: U A B at Marshall (7:00 PM Eastern)
                      Pick: U A B +9 (-105)

The Marshall Thundering herd opened the season at 9-2, playing tough against some good teams, and beating a few as well. That team has left the building and has been replaced by a team that is 4-4 over their last eight games, losing confidence while dropping their last two. Things could be even worse as their last three wins have all come by 2 points or less. UAB has lost a lot of talent to graduation from a year ago, but there is still plenty left and they are just green and growing right now. The Balzers have just one win to show for their last five games, but the gap is closing. They lost to Marshall by just two, Memphis by three, beat Rice on the road and lost to a powerful Southern Miss team on the road by just three during the 1-4 stretch. This team is better than the line in this one vs. a now struggling Marshall team.
                      Play on UAB.

Senior Handicapper, the original and real Matt Rivers of OffshoreInsiders.com has a free pick winner is on DePaul (+10) to Rutgers.

Reasoning: No doubt the Blue Demons are one of the weaker teams in the entire Big East, if not the worst team in the conference. Ray and Joey Meyer’s school have now dropped five in a row and have looked pretty terrible in doing so.

Meanwhile Rutgers is much improved and has been extremely competitive against some high quality teams. But with that said can the Scarlet Knights really be a double digit favorite like this? They may be the superior team of these two but they are also not exactly familiar with this role as the hunted vs. the hunter and I don’t see the home squad able to just go up big and take care of business going away.

The Demons are 9-10 overall and a pretty bad basketball team. Cleveland Melvin though isn’t terrible and I just do not see the visitors getting blown out of the gym in this thing against what is still “Rutgers”. They may lose, yes, but by double digits? I just don’t see it.

Rutgers is a good team to back when getting a handsome amount of points against a superior team like a Georgetown or a Louisville or a Pittsburgh but not when in this position as the in-conference chalk. This is just not the spot for them to succeed in against the number.
It is unfamiliar territory, if not unchartered waters, for the Knights and one that they are not yet used to. Miller, Carter, Seagears and the boys from Rutgers should escape with the win in the end but a blowout victory for this program against a Big East foe still seems a bit much. Yes I know all about the victory against Pittsburgh. That was great but a lot of it was also one of those things that can be somewhat categorized as a fluke.

Top expert pick on this game: DePaul

For more information: That’s right, I swept the board yesterday with the beyond easy 400,000* on Miami and the 300,000* on Iowa State to improve upon my hoops run and continue to destroy that Crookie. I’m not the biggest NBA guy in the world and the Bobcats and Wizards isn’t exactly a game that means all that much as evidenced by the five combined wins. But none of that matters as I am absolutely in love with this game and will bang it home once again smacking around the man as I usually do. 400,000* Bobcats-Wizards along with a 200,000* Southern Mississippi-East Carolina. Now to The Great One Stevie Vincent:

LEVEL 4 PLAY is on NORTHERN IOWA over Indiana State

Forensic ATS information on this game: Indiana State 0-9 to conference, 0-8 off conference game, 0-7 after 3 straight games forcing opponent to commit 14 or less turnovers, 0-7 MVC, Northern Iowa 8-3 in their last 11 games following a straight up win

Bill Tanner, who is from the basketball crazed state of Indiana adds:

Duke Blue Devils @ Maryland Terrapins

Duke and Maryland will get together on Wednesday night in a key conference game. The Duke Blue Devils are 16-3 overall and 4-1 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. The Blue Devils are in a three way tie for first place in the conference. For Maryland, they are 12-6 overall and 2-2 in ACC play.

The Maryland Terrapins are coming off two straight losses; at North Carolina State and at Temple. The Terrapins last win came on January 15th over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Maryland is one of the worst assist teams in the country, as they are averaging just over 10 per game.

The Duke Blue Devils were stunned on Saturday at the buzzer by the Florida State Seminoles. The Blue Devils other two losses came to Ohio State and Temple. Duke is scoring 80.5 points per game, led by Austin Rivers, with 14.4 per game. The Blue Devils are shooting just shy of 50% on the season, which ranks 13th.

Duke has not been very good against the spread this season. They have won just 7 of 19 games overall against the spread. Maryland has a 5-8-1 record ATS. The Blue Devils are 2-2 when playing on the road, while Maryland has won 11 of 12 at home. The Terrapins keep this one close at home.

                              Tanners Tip: Maryland Terrapins +11

Vic Duke’s piping hot streak continues:

                              LSU (+9) for 2 Units **
LSU/Mississippi State 8:00: Miss State is coming off a big win at Vanderbilt launching them on to the top of the charts in the SEC. LSU is hungry to get out of the SEC basement. We'll look for the Tigers to claw and scratch to stay in this one.

LSU is offensively challenged a bit but they do play solid defense to keep them in games. The Tigers do have Justin Hamilton, a big man who has averaged 19.3 ppg over last 6 games. And Johnny O'Bryant (hand) is expected back tonight to lend to the Tigers interior depth.

The Tigers are 10-4 ATS against teams above .500. They're 5-2 ATS off a loss. The dog in this series is 4-1-1 ATS. LSU got an outright in Starksville last year. We'll look for them to be competitive here.
