    Tuesday NHL Pick

Nashville Predators Vs. Los Angeles Kings

The Predators and Kings clash in Nashville on Tuesday night as both teams jockey for playoff positioning in the Western Conference with just a handful of games remaining in the regular season. The Predators sit 5th in the COnference and will look to chase down the Red Wings for 4th while the Kings sit in 9th and can leapfrog San Jose for the final playoff spot with a victory in the Music City.

Los ANgeles has won 2 in a row and appear as though they've turned the corner on their season that has been considered a disappointment thus far after shaking thigns up in the offseason. Defensively, the Kings are amongst the best in the NHL but in the same light they have the league's worst offense and as such that unbalance has them on the outside looking in when it comes to the postseason.

The Predators meanwhile have been red hot since the all-star break and will look to improve their home ice record to 22-7-5 with a win here against a pesky Kings team. Nashville defensively is very strong but they also have a nice balance up front that was aided by the addition of Andrei Kositsyn at the trade deadline that helps bolster a forward group that includes brother Sergei, Mike Fisher, and Patric Hornqvist. The key for me here is the stingy Preds defense matching up against LA as the Kings have a very weak offense to begin with let alone against Pekka Rinne and the Predators. I wouldn't be surprised if the Kings get blanked here and as such I'm laying it down with the Preds at home at a respectable price considering their competition.

    Kyle's Pick: Nashville Predators -145
