double-dime bet 766 SAN -9.5 (-110) Bodog vs 765 MINA
Analysis: Play on San Antonio at 8:35 ET. This shapes up as a terrible spot for the visiting Timberwolves, who are now without the services of PG Ricky Rubio for the remainder of the season and facing a Spurs team that has had three days to simmer over a seven-point road loss to Dallas on Saturday. Prior to that loss, San Antonio was scoring in bunches, averaging a very nice 114.8 PPG. Not only are the Spurs 15-7 ATS at home this season, but they are also 12-4 ATS after failing to cover in their previous game. Minnesota had been 1-4 ATS w/out Rubio prior to an outright win over the Warriors Monday night, which was the same game that featured that bizzare halftime "uprising" of Golden State fans against ownership. There is no such unrest in the Alamo. Though they are 2-0 SU/ATS vs. the Spurs so far this season, Minnesota has lost 14 times in a row here in San Antonio. Manu Ginobili is also back for the home side. Fatigue could be an issue here for the young T'wolves, who are playing the sixth game of a seven-game road trip. Take San Antonio.
double-dime bet 762 NOH -1.5 (-110) Bookmaker.com vs 761 GSW
Analysis: Golden State is at low ebb with four straight losses. Morale is at a season-low with the Warriors following the trade of Monta Ellis and Epke Udoh for two players - Andrew Bogut and Stephen Jackson - who won't play for the Warriors this season. Bogut is out for the year with a broken ankle and Jackson was immediately dealt away.
Golden State fans are down with team ownership and now the players are down knowing management has done nothing to help them make the playoffs.
Ellis was Golden State's most explosive player. The Warriors also are without Stephen Curry. He's sidelined with an ankle injury. In addition, big man Andris Biedrins may not play due to a groin injury.
This is a rare winnable home game for the Hornets. They should be primed for it having not played since Saturday when they beat New Jersey on the road. The Hornets are 9-1 ATS when playing on three days rest.
Golden State was idle on Tuesday, but is 1-5 ATS when playing on one day rest. This marks the Warriors' fourth game in six days and eighth game in 12 days. The loss of Ellis and Curry leaves them shorthanded in the backcourt.
