Expert Preview: MREAST NFL SUNDAY PLAY OF THE DAY

Expert Analysis: The New York Jets have fallen hard and fast after starting the season at 2-1. The Jets have just a single win to show for their last 6 games where they have logged a 1-5 record. I`m not sure how much longer they can go with Mark Sanchez as he appears to be regressing instead of improving. He has completed 6 o the 9 jets games with a passer rating of less than 67 and on the season he has 10 TD`s to 9 INT`s.

The Jets have no success running the ball either, so the offense ranks 30th in yards per game, and overall scoring 19.4ppg. The Rams are getting a little more out of their offense, and a little more out of their defense, with the biggest difference the 26 sacks recorded by St. Louis and that doesn`t work well for Mark Sanchez who has been awful when put under duress. One of the biggest differences in St. Louis is having Danny Amendola in the lineup. Despite only playing in 5 of the Rams 8 games, he leads the team in receptions and yards with 43 catches for 493 yards on the season. If you project that over 16 games that translates to 138 catches for 1578 yards, so you can see how vital he is to the Rams offense. The Rams average 20.0ppg with him, and 13.7ppg without him, and are 5-1 ATS when he is in the lineup. The jets have a lot of injury issues, and none bigger than Darelle Revis going down, as the Jets were 2-0 with him,and 1-6 without him. Rams have now gone 7-0 ATS following a game where they gained more than 350 yards. Play this one on St. Louis.

As far as the all-time series is concerned, the Nittany Lions have taken four straight from Akron and win number 5 will come this afternoon in Puerto Rico. I expect the Nittany Lions to control the tempo of this game and keep the scoring down and take this game right down to the wire. Getting this many points in a game that will likely be played in the low sixties is too good to pass up. The Zips have some size, but that only bodes well in the MAC and not against the size of Big Ten players. The Big Ten is the best conference in the country this season and the bottom half flexes their muscles on Sunday and we collect big in the process as well.
