Houston is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games and the favorite in this series is 4-1 ATS. By prediction is that if the Rockets can hit the century mark tonight this game is an easy cover.

The line is dropping on this game which makes me a little concerned. But, I have come to learn that I stick with models and numbers as lines change constantly for various factors. The line dropping is just one element if of many. I have Eastern Kentucky as a top 145 team facing a UT Chattanooga team that is ranked outside the top 400 (when including division 2 schools in my rankings). Eastern Kentucky is headed by Jeff Neubauer since 2006 and his teams have always been one in which offense was an emphasis. Eastern Kentucky is top 135 in offense but more importantly they are top 15 in effective field goal percentage and top 20 in the nation in turnover percentage. In fact, they are 2nd in the nation in 2 point field goal percentage and a top 150 team in 3 point field goals. This team has beat 4 teams in the 200 power ranking this year and 2 in the top 300's. In fact, they are undefeated and although they will lose soon especially in conference play, I don't think its this game as they face a Chattanooga team that is one of the best offensive rebounding teams in the league, they are top 325 in effective field goal percentage and top 325 in turnover percentage. I don't like the fact that this team just got hammered by Davidson at home so I do expect this game to be close in the first half. However, I have the final here at 83-71 and with a 10 point differential, I think its a good opportunity for us to take Eastern Kentucky here. The Colonels of Eastern Kentucky are 4-1 ATS when facing team on the road with a home winning percentage of less than 40% and the Mocs are 0-4 ATS when facing teams from the Ohio Valley Conference of late.

Phoenix will have a shakeup in their lineup likely today. Coach Gentry mentioned that he will be switching the lineup based on latest reports. Whenever there is a shakeup, there is a new found energy and pace. This team has lost a slew of games this year including a tough loss to Dallas where they had a miserable 3rd quarter of shooting. I look for this team to get up to play the Clippers and to play a lot better today. I also look for the Clippers to be successful on their end as they have had a great offensive output at home. The Over is 5-1 for the Suns when they face a winning team on the road and the Over is 6-1 for the Clippers after a straight up win of more than 10 points. The Warriors come off a huge win over the Nets on the road. It was a big step for this team and David Lee led the charge with 30 points. Mark Jackson has this team headed in the right direction and this is even before Bogut enters the lineup from his injury. The Wizards come off a tough loss against Atlanta and were a great active dog against Miami at home. I look for the Clippers to get up to play the young Warriors team who might be in for a let down and this pace is likely going to be lively in this contest. The Spurs always seem to know when Michael Jordan is watching their games. Charlotte remembers the 30 point loss suffered to this team the last time they played. They are a much improved team with Taylor and Kidd-Gilchrist along with the maturation of Kemba Walker. Look for this team who nearly beat the Knicks at home to be a solid home underdog today. Plus, the Spurs have 70% of the public on them so a decent public fade here as well and the over is an indirect public fade by taking the Underdog. The Over is 8-1-1 when the Spurs face teams of winning percentage of less than 40% (Charlotte is 7-11 or 39%) and the Over is 3-0 for the Bobcats when they face teams with a good winning road record (meaning the better teams in the league). New Orleans comes off a tough defensive contest against Memphis who is rated the #1 defense in the league. They face a Miami team who got hammered by New York. I look for the defending champs to come out with a vengeance this game. But, they are not the same defensively as they were in years' past. They are ranked outside the top 20 in defense for whatever reason. I like New Orleans to be more competitive than people give them credit for in this game as this team did put up 100+ points at home against the Bucks. The Over is 5-1 for the Hornets in their last 6 road games and the Over is 4-1-1 for the Heat following a straight up loss. You have to think after an effort of putting up 73 points against Minnesota, Cleveland will bounce-back today. You wouldn't know it, but Minnesota is the 4th ranked defense in the league so now as this team has an opportunity to see more shots today, I like Cleveland to have a better effort against rival Detroit. Detroit actually enters this game as a favorite given their strong play of late. As Detroit comes off a loss against the Bulls, I like them have their fair share of success shooting the ball. Stuckey has been great off the bench including 20+ points in his last game and Singler had a poor shooting performance last game. Look for Singler to shoot much better today and Detroit and Cleveland to have a much faster pace than people expect. The Over is 16-5 for the Pistons playing 0 days rest and the Over is 4-1 for the Cavs after scoring less than 75 points in their previous game.
