4 Unit Play. #522 Take La Salle (First Half Line) -2.5 over St. Josephs (1 pm NBC Sports Network) The Explorers are a fast starting team but they seem to have trouble hanging onto leads in the second half. That sets up a strong play with the first half line and we expect another quick start against an underachieving Hawks team. St. Josephs has a lot of veteran talent, but they have yet to play up to that standard this season. La Salle has won three straight games including two on the road and we expect them to come out hot at the Palestra on Saturday afternoon.

4 Unit Play. #542 Take Tulane (First Half Line) -3 over SMU (2:30 pm FSN) The Green Wave are another team that seems to start fast when they play in New Orleans and thus we will take them laying half the posted number for the first half time. The Green Wave put forth a pretty good effort in their last outing against Southern Miss, one of the top teams in the league and we look for them to start fast in this affair.

4 Unit Play. #581 Take Duke -5 over Maryland (6 pm ESPN) I am really not a big fan of this Blue Devil team but they have much more offensive firepower than does Maryland and thus I expect them to win this game. Therefore since we believe that they will win, we will take a shot that they will also cover this medium sized number. Maryland just does not have any firepower from long range. They do have a nice big man in Alex Len, but I expect Mason Plumlee to cancel him out and thus this game will come down to guard play and it is hard not to favor Duke in that category. Duke is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following an ATS loss in their previous game. Maryland is 2-7 ATS (1 push) in their last 20 games overall.

4 Unit Play. #584 Take Valparaiso -3.5 over Detroit (6 pm ESPN 2) The Titans have talent and are a very strong team on offense; however, the Crusaders are the more complete team and they currently sit atop the standing in the Horizon League. Valpo mounted a huge comeback against the Titans to win the first meeting by 1 point and expect a 40 minute performance out of them tonight. The last time these two teams met in Indiana, the Titans won by 20 points to earn the automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. You can be sure that the Crusaders have not forgotten that feeling and will come out determined to make a statement on Saturday. Detroit is 4-16 ATS (1 push) in their last 21 games following a victory of more than 20 points in their previous game. Valpo has covered 4 of their last 5 home games.

4 Unit Play. #586 Take Massachusetts -3 over Temple (6 pm CBS Sports Network) Temple has one great player in Khalif Wyatt, but if they cannot beat Duquesne in Philadelphia, I do not give them much of a chance to beat UMASS in Amherst. The Owls are just not as strong as they have been in past years and UMASS in getting better each year under Coach Derek Kellogg. The Minutemen are coming off two blowouts in their last two home games and also beat Duquesne by 13 points. Temple is 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games overall. UMASS is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games.

5 Unit Play. #636 Take Troy -3.5 over North Texas (8:30 pm ESPN 3) The Trojans are coming off a victory on Thursday against FIU and expect them to complete this two game home stand with another victory on Saturday against North Texas. Both teams are below .500 in the Sun Belt but Troy plays in the eastern division that features the two top teams in the league. The Trojans will also have revenge on their minds since they lost to North Texas by 17 points earlier this season. The Mean Green have won just one game since January 20th and they have all but thrown in the towel on this season. Their last 4 losses have come by 9 points or more. Troy is 7-1 ATS in their last 8 Sun Belt Conference games. North Texas is 3-9 ATS (1 push) in their last 13 road games.

4 Unit Play. #682 Take Siena +7.5 over Loyola Maryland (7 pm) The Saints have certainly not been the same team since Fran McCaffery bolted for Iowa, but getting this many points at home is just too good to pass up. These two teams met 8 days ago in Maryland and it was just a 12 point game and I expect this game to be close for 40 minutes and taken down to the wire. The Greyhounds have lost two of their last three road games and their only victory was in overtime by 2 points against Niagara. Loyola-Maryland has covered just 1 of their last 6 games. The Saints seem to bounce back will going 5-2 ATS when they lose by more than 20 points in their previous game.

Best of Luck - Doc's Sports. We may have a big play tomorrow (7/8 Unit Play) depending on the line that we get on a big ten game we are looking at. This play has the potential to rate high.

NHL - 2013 Tale of the Tape: +24 units, $100 bettors up $1,690 and will feature a strong card on Saturday you cannot afford to miss.

6-Unit Play. #12 Nashville Predators -145 vs. Anaheim (Saturday @ 8:05 pm est)

Anaheim finishes their six game road trip in the Music City where the Ducks are (1-6) in the last (7) meetings in Bridgestone Arena, Nashville, Tennessee. These teams played in January with the Quack Attack taking a (3-2) shoot-out win. Nashville goalie Pekka Rinne already has posted three shut-outs on the season and has posted back-to-back blank jobs coming into this game. The Predators will need another superb effort from their 6-foot-5 Finn Goaltender and keep this game close. Pekka Rinne has allowed (1) goal or less in six of his past seven starts taking advantage of the impressive, shot-blocking fortress of defenders in front of him and HC Barry Trotz is one of the best in the National Hockey League at getting the most out of his players. Nashville ended up with (104) points last year with a team at the start of the year didn't look like they had enough there. And as the team grew, they added guys like Paul Gaustad, Hal Gill, those type of people. And the improvement of the young guys like [Craig] Smith, [Colin] Wilson, Gabriel Bourque up front, Roman Josi and Ryan Ellis, this team is really set up long-term and really in a good position to contend this season. Scoring production should start to come at Bridgestone Arena as the Predators were one of the NHL"s best home teams. The Nashville brass will not rest until it's parading Lord Stanley around Music City.

                        1-Unit Pick Take #14 Edmonton (-1.5 +205) over Colorado
Please note this is our "Game Of The Month"
In sports one of the key factors is emotion, you can have a team with all the talent in the world but if that team isn't ready to play or that attention span for any reason isn't there then talent just doesn't matter sometimes. The Oilers have a ton of young talent and if you follow what I write I have said this many times this year. The Oilers have struggled this year winning just five of their first eighteen games and just once in their last seven games with that win coming against the lowly Columbus Blue Jackets where the Oilers were outshot 40-14, definitely a eye opener. First year Edmonton head coach Ralph Krueger made a a move to bench some of his veterans that did piss off two of them but make no mistake it grab the locker rooms attention. The Oilers have had a couple of days off for some productive practices and now catch the perfect opponent to get on track with Colorado coming to town. The Ave's area shell of themselves with injuries and it has showed with the offense that ranks in the bottom of the league with a power play that has only converted 10.3 % on the year. Colorado is coming off a shoot out win in Minnesota which I thought they were fortunate to get in what was a physical game on Thursday night. We get a cheap price because of the Oilers lack of emotion early on which I don't think will be a problem tonight. Number is cheap, take advantage
                        of it.

2-Unit Pick Take Over (5.5) Philadelphia at Montreal (7pm, Saturday, February 16)
The Flyers road trip continues tonight in Montreal after losing in New Jersey despite out shooting the Devils 28-19 and blowing a 3-1 lead to end up losing 5-3. Montreal is off a 1-0 in overtime at Florida. Montreal is up tempo team that has put 30+ shots on net in nine of their thirteen games this year. Look for Montreal team to force a quick pace against a Philadelphia team playing on back to back nights and their forth straight road game. The Flyers offense has also picked up averaging 2.71 goals a game over their last seven games after averaging just 2 goals a game threw their first eight that was skewed by a seven goal output in Florida, take that game out on they averaged just 1.28 goals a game in their first seven. Plus money to go over here is value.

Quietly this Texas Arlington team has started to play a lot better in WAC play and emerge out of the 2nd group of teams as being much better than those also-rans. The Mavericks walked through the Southland Conference last season and though it took a while for them to get comfortable this year, they have become a force now in their new league play. They come into this game winners of five of their last six games and with really only one regrettable loss this entire season and that was to today's opponent Seattle, who UTA lost to by almost 20 points in their earlier game this year.

Seattle comes in with four straight losses overall and seven in their last eight with their only win against a depleted San Jose State squad. In fact only one of their wins this season has come against a team rated 292nd overall on the year.

Play Texas Arlington here in this game.

3 Unit Play Take #582 Valparaiso -3.5 over Detroit (6:00pm est):

Pretty simple handicap here as the market is basically saying these two teams are close to even on a neutral court and that's not the case at all.

Detroit cannot win big games and is nowhere near the class of this Valpo team. Go up and down the Titans schedule and you see big game loss after big game loss including a defeat at home to Valpo earlier this season. They have defeated just one top 100 team and that was at home against out of conference Akron who was probably a bit intimidated going against Detroit in that one.

Valparaiso comes in defending league champions from last year. They have marched right through the Horizon League again this season with only two slip up's along the way. This a rock solid veteran group, the oldest team in all of CBB and one who knows how to win big games and this one is as big as it get's between these two conference powers here.

Play Valparaiso in this one minus the points.

3 Unit Play Take #529 Illinois Chicago +5 over Loyola Chicago (2:00pm est):

This Loyola Chicago team is a mess right now with injuries all over the court and big drop offs with the guys replacing the former players. Coming into this one off maybe their worst loss of the season and fourth in a row, the Ramblers are a young program still that is proving it doesn't have a lot of depth to withstand all the injuries they are dealing with this at this time. This is still a very young team and one that only won 7 games all of last season as well including going just 1-17 in Horizon League play. Even this year's marked improvement is beginning to look more and more like a fluke as they have played one of the easier schedules in CBB.

Illinois Chicago is on the other side of the coin with four wins in their last six games and most of their losses this season have come to better teams. This team won't be intimidated as they already have some big conference road wins so far this year including a huge triple overtime thriller last game at Youngstown State. This is a big squad and one that matches up extremely well with Loyola Chicago if the Ramblers are missing their best player big man Ben Averkamp in this contest.

Take Illinois Chicago and the points here in this one.

3 Unit Play Take #702 South Dakota -2 over IPFW (8:00pm est):

Not impressed at all with this IPFW squad who comes in off a road win in their last contest. They are in a tough spot here that I like to fade in conference games and that is a small road underdog who won the first meeting of the season by a basket or less. The Mastodons are an ugly 11-16 on the year this despite playing a very bad schedule on the season season and have just two road victories this entire year as well.

Very tough travel spot here to South Dakota as the Coyotes nearly pulled off the big upset in their last game against Oakland University, a team who was also traveling into town for their game against South Dakota. Keep in mind this team played a very tough top 20 non-conference schedule this season. They also have two very impressive wins in conference play over the likes of South Dakota State and Oakland and lost by only two versus Western Illinois as well as their one point defeat we stated earlier.

South Dakota needs a win and in a revenge spot here should get it. Play South Dakota.

3 Unit Play Take #677 Southern Utah +3.5 over Eastern Washington (5:00pm est):

I love crappy conference basketball and may be no worse conference we can wager on than the Big Sky Conference and these two dog's here in this one.

Eastern Washington shouldn't be laying points against many teams in CBB and especially one I have them ranked below this season right now. This is just a 7-17 team who may be without one of their top players here in this one. They have just seven wins all season and only one against a team rated better than 200th on the year (and that was 186th Cal State Fullerton).

Southern Utah had their big five game winning streak snapped last week as they dropped two games both on the road but before that they had been rolling along including beating this EWU squad by 14 in late January. They struggled a bit before league play this season but keep in mind they played the 22nd toughest non-conference schedule in the nation which is not an easy task.
