When it comes to these non-conference matchups in the postseason its always important to check out who is going to get up for who so to speak. Such is the case yesterday with BYU getting up to play Washington a school in a major conference or such is the case here with let's say Houston getting to play Texas. This is an in-state conference and Texas decided to pay the extra fees for this extra competition for its young team. Houston is outside the top 200 as it relates to defense and that should be a music to Texas's ears after playing in a conference that has the likes of Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Iowa State and Baylor - essentially all teams that love to play defense. Combine that with Houston getting up to play Texas and this should be a competitive up and down game as Houston has a series of young players that can shoot the ball well. Texas scored just 49 points in the Big12 Conference Tournament in their last game and will be itching to shoot the ball better and in the same token Houston is a top 100 offensive team and look for their young group of guards to play well. Look for this game to be an up and down high pace contest that likely sees this game go into the mid 150's this evening.

4-Unit Play. #616. Take Memphis -1.5 over Oklahoma City (Wednesday @ 8pm est).

Memphis favored in this contest and you'll notice that 65% of the public as the road underdog and a good public fade ensues here. I typically don't like fading OKC coming off a loss but having said that, Memphis has big revenge from a 89-106 loss to this team earlier on the road. Memphis was blown out in part because this new lineup was not in sync and they were routed. Now, they look to take their recent solid play and get some revenge on their home court. OKC has lost 13 games on the road this year so its not as if they can't lose back to back games as that has happened before as well this year. Look for Memphis to play well with revenge today as this is a good public fade, a benchmark game for Memphis to see how much they have improved and become competitive in the West from their trade for Prince and others and the Grizzlies are 21-7 ATS in their last 28 games when facing a team with a winning percentage of greater than 60% on the road (meaning the better teams in the league).

Tampa Bay will be without their team captain Vincent Lecavalier, and Lightning coach Guy Boucher has to be concerned as his Lightning lost (321) man-games to injury last season. Horrible goaltending is just one reason for Toronto's currant slide. Maple Leafs Head Coach Randy Carlyle has put his goaltenders on notice that the job is now up for grabs. After missing the postseason for the seventh time in a row the City of Toronto is tired of waiting for a winning hockey team. Brian Burke was fired as GM before the strike shortened season even got underway and named Dave Nonis as his replacement. Look for the Maple Leafs ro end their currant slide with a win on the Air Canada Centre ice as the Lightning are (7-18-1) in the last (26) meetings in Toronto.
