      Memphis Grizzlies vs Minnesota Timberwolves

      Memphis Grizzlies
      -4-105 at 5dimes

20* NBA Saturday No-Doubt Rout on Memphis Grizzlies -4

The Memphis Grizzlies will blow the Minnesota Timberwolves out of the building tonight. The Grizzlies would currently be the No. 5 seed in the West if the season were to end today, trailing the Clippers by just 0.5 games for No. 4 and Denver by 1.0 games for No. 3.

With playoff seeding on the line, don't expect Memphis to take a night off the rest of the way. That's why I'm not concerned with them coming back tonight and facing Minnesota after a big 103-94 home win over Houston last night.

Meanwhile, the Timberwolves are in a huge letdown spot following their shocking 101-93 upset home victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder last night. They won't even show up tonight off such a big win, especially considering how tired they are. Minnesota will be playing its 4th game in 5 days, and its 7th game in 10 days tonight.

This play falls into a system that is 58-26 (69%) ATS since 1996. It tells us to bet against home underdogs of 3.5 to 9.5 points (MINNESOTA) - extremely tired team - playing their 5th game in 7 days, a bad team, winning 25% to 40% of their games on the season.

Memphis simply owns Minnesota. It has gone 10-0 SU & 9-1 ATS in its last 10 meetings with the Timberwolves dating back to 2010. All 10 victories have come by 4 points or more. Take the Grizzlies Saturday.

          WEBER STATE vs NORTHERN IOWA

          NORTHERN IOWA
          -4-106 at 5dimes

15* College Insider Tournament ANNIHILATOR on Northern Iowa -4

The Northern Iowa Panthers are showing excellent value as only a 4-point home favorite over Weber State in the semifinals of the College Insider Tournament Saturday. I look for the Panthers to blow the opposition out of the building tonight.

Northern Iowa is the best team left in this tournament. It has posted three straight double-digit victories over North Dakota, Illinois-Chicago and Bradley to reach the semis. Weber State won three straight at home as well to get here, but now it has to take its act on the road, which is a huge disadvantage.

That's especially the case considering Northern Iowa is 16-3 at home this season, outscoring opponents by 13.0 points/game. That includes wins over NCAA Tournament teams like St. Mary's (82-73), Wichita State (57-52) and Creighton (61-54).

Weber State has played a very easy schedule this season. In fact, you could make the argument that this is its toughest game of the year. A couple other tough games for them include a 55-65 road loss at Utah State, and a 68-78 home loss to BYU.

Weber State is 0-7 ATS in road games versus good defensive teams - allowing <=64 points/game after 15+ games since 1997. Northern Iowa is 6-0 ATS versus very good shooting teams - making >=48% of their shots over the last 2 seasons. The Panthers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600. These three trends combine for a perfect 17-0 system backing UNI. Roll with Northern Iowa Saturday.

              Brooklyn at Utah

Wichita State Shockers vs. Ohio State Buckeyes
The second seeded Ohio State Buckeyes (29-7, 20-13-1 ATS) come out of the
Big Ten while the ninth seeded Wichita State Shockers (29-8, 18-14-2 ATS) are
a mid-major, but do not expect a walkover at the Staples Center in Los
Angeles Saturday at 7:05 ET on CBS. Ohio State advanced to the Elite Eight from
the West Region by hitting three-pointers in the final seconds to break tied
games in back-to-back contests, which is already a good reason not to be
comfortable with the Buckeyes as decided favorites, while the Shockers have
been very impressive in their three tournament wins, recording blowouts over
what was thought by many to be a dangerous Pittsburgh team and over red-hot
La Salle, and also knocking off top-seeded Gonzaga by six points.

The Missouri Valley Conference only got two teams into the NCAA Tournament
this year despite being one of the better mid-major conferences, and while
the conference champions from Creighton, who received most of the national
recognition this season, lost to Duke last week, second place Wichita State
may have been severely underseeded as a nine seed. In fact, the Shockers are
currently ranked 20th in the country overall on the Pomeroy Ratings, which
would equate to a low-level five-seed, so this team is not a fluke. Wichita
State has always won by getting after teams defensively since Gregg Marshall
took over as head coach and this team is no different. It is not that the
Shockers are terrible offensively, as they do rank 33rd in the country in
offensive efficiency, but rather they are inconsistent on that side of the ball.
This tournament bears that out as they were terrible shooting the ball vs.
Pittsburgh but were just fine the last two games. The one constant for the
Shockers though is always defense. Keep in mind that all three teams that
Wichita State faced in this tournament were ranked in the top 30 nationally in
offensive efficiency, and yet the Shockers held them to a cumulative 35.5
percent shooting from the floor, and that is not an anomaly for the team that
led the Missouri Valley in effective field goal percentage allowed.

Now, Ohio State is obviously formidable as it is ranked fifth in the
country by Pomeroy, 11th in offensive efficiency and ninth in defensive
efficiency. Wichita State will not be intimidated though, especially since the
Buckeyes have looked like anything but a fifth ranked team the last two games, need
last-second game-winners to get by Iowa State and Arizona. Well, Wichita
State easily has a better defense then either of those teams, and as efficient
as the Buckeyes are offensively, they only rank 73rd on the nation in
effective field goal percentage. In fact, Ohio State could have easily already
been upset in this tournament if not for some abnormal three-point shooting.
The Buckeyes are shooting a whopping 50.0 percent from beyond the arc
(23-for-46) in their three tournament games after hitting on only 35.9 percent of
their three-pointers during the season. Some regression is likely here vs. a
tall, athletic defense, so this just might be the game where the Buckeyes
get sent packing, just one game shy of the Final Four.

Wichita State is 6-2 ATS in its last eight games vs. teams with a winning
percentage above .600, as well as 5-2 ATS in its last seven NCAA Tournament
games. Ohio State is 2-5 ATS in its last seven non-conference games.

                              PICK: WICHITA ST SHOCKERS+4.5

                                NBA WEEKEND LEAN SHEET

Chicago at Dallas, Saturday, Mar. 30, 2:00 ET
This is a tough spot for the Bulls, who are in an obvious letdown spot after halting the Heat's 27-game winning streak and must now travel to take on a Western Conference foe, a situation where they have struggled this year. Chicago is 9-20 ATS vs. West teams overall this season including 5-9 on the road, and four of their five non-conference road wins came over sub-.500 teams with the only exception being Golden State. The Mavericks are still in the playoff picture and they got a much needed win over an elite team when they beat the Clippers Tuesday. They trail the Lakers by 1 for the last playoff spot entering Thursday and cannot let winnable games like this one slip away. Chicago is 10-24 ATS in its last 34 non-conference games.
                                LEAN: DALLAS

Orlando at Atlanta, Saturday, Mar. 30, 7:00 ET
Atlanta will be on the second of a back-to-back after playing at Boston on Friday and the 'under' has gone 12-6-1 when the Hawks have played with no rest this season with those games averaging just a combined 190.2 points. Also all three meetings with the Magic have been very low scoring this year, mainly because Orlando failed to exceed 80 points in any of the three meetings! The Magic rank 22nd in the NBA is scoring at 94.4 points per game and they are practically putting a D-League team on the court right now with their two leading scorers Glen Davis and Arron Afflalo both out for the season and their leading rebounder Nikola Vucevic, who is averaging a double-double, battling concussion issues. The 'under' is 29-8 in the last 37 head-to-head meetings.
                                LEAN: UNDER

L.A. Clippers at Houston, Saturday, Mar. 30, 8:00 ET
The Rockets lost here at home to the Pacers while scoring only 91 points on Wednesday, but they are still 24-8 straight up in their last 32 home games while averaging a whopping 111.1 points and winning by an average of +8.1 points. This is a double revenge spot for the Rockets as they are 0-2 vs. the Clippers this season, although they did cover the spread at Los Angeles in the last meeting. The Clippers are wrapping up a four-game road trip and will be coming off of a huge game vs. the San Antonio Spurs on Friday, so the Rockets are probably the last team they want to be facing in this spot as they play at the fastest pace in the NBA. The Clippers are 6-15-1 ATS in their last 22 games when playing their fourth straight road game vs. a conference opponent.
                                LEAN: HOUSTON
