Pittsburgh comes into Tampa as the top team in the Eastern Conference four points clear of Boston and fresh off clinching the Atlantic division. The playoffs doesn't seem to be a reality for a Tampa Bay team that has lost both meetings against Pittsburgh this year both games were in Pittsburgh. A lot has changed for both teams since that
last meeting in Pittsburgh, Tampa has a new coach that the team has responded too. The Lighting have brought up several young guy's while Pittsburgh has lost some of their key players including Sidney Crosby. Pittsburgh is still very deep but I think the Lighting will treat this as their own playoff game while I don't see Pittsburgh matching that intensity. I like how Tampa has reshaped this roster and have got better goaltending since acquiring goalie Ben Bishop. I think Pittsburgh is fools gold and I will back the young Lighting tonight.


2-Unit Pick Take Over (5.5) Ottawa at Philadelphia (7pm, Thursday, April 11th)


The Senators are starting too slip from the playoffs by losing four straight after overcoming injury after injury. The biggest short coming has been the lack of offense which surprising has kept the Flyers from building off last year when they were one of the best offensive units in the league. We do get the benefit of not having Ottawa staring goalie Graig Anderson in the lineup and with the Flyers having three of their regular defensemen out of the lineup I think we could be in store for a weird one tonight. I think this is the perfect team for the struggling Ottawa offense to get going against and we get a plus price to go over.
2-Unit Pick Take #14 Minnesota (-1.10) over St. Louis (8pm, Thursday, April 11th)




These are two teams going in different directions right now with the Blues winning five straight while Minnesota has lost four of the last five with the losing slide starting with a home loss to St. Louis back on April 1st 4-1. Minnesota was a -1.25 home favorite in that game while we have basically a pick tonight in a game that has become very important for Minnesota. The Blues have won back to back games 1-0 behind goalie Brain Elliot who has been inconsistent in the past, I like this Blues team until we get to the goalie and I still don't trust Elloit and I think this line is short because of Minnesota recent play. I think this number should be the Wild -1.20 so I will back the home
team here.

Golden State has a lot less to play for as it's either going to be the No. 6 or No. 7 seed in the West, which isn't a huge difference. The Warriors are being overvalued here because they have won four of five coming in. All four of those victories came against non-playoff teams in the Blazers, Hornets, Suns and Timberwolves with three of them coming at home. Their lone loss was a 90-97 setback at home against the Utah Jazz, who were the only team that had something to play for during this run. The Thunder are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. Oklahoma City is 41-18-3 ATS in its last 62 vs. Western Conference opponents. The Warriors are 4-13 ATS in their last 17 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. Golden State is 3-10 ATS in its last 13 games following a S.U. win. Bet the Thunder Thursday.

Why we like the Padres on Thursday at +145...there is to much value in this game to pass up with the Padres playing at home behind a healthy Jason Marquis and with the Dodgers on a get away day. Both of these pitchers are coming off quality starts in their first outing of the season but there is one part that we take away from each of these starts. Zack Greinke comes into this game after coming off of a W against the below average offensive Pirates IN Los Angeles where he allowed 0 runs through 6 innings on 2 hits and 6 Ks. Jason Marquis is coming off an L against the above average offensive Rockies where he allowed 2 runs through 6 innings on 2 HRs IN Colorado. The difference in those two starts were where and against whom they occurred. Greinke was able to pitch in his home pitcher friendly park against the Pirates while Marquis went up against the Rockies in a hitters friendly park where his only earned runs were on home runs. Marquis should fare much better on Thursday as he will be making his home debut in the pitcher friendly Petco Park. When speaking of the opposing offenses in this game, the Padres come in with a combined .234 average with 3 HRs through 47 ABs off of Greinke while the Dodgers come in with a combined .208 average with 2 HRs through 130 ABs off of Marquis. Much to early to get a read on these bullpens at this point in the season but the early edge does go to the Padres with their home success. The key to this game will be the creature of habit in Zack Greinke making his first career start at Petco Park.
