This Hawks team has to win tonight if they want to hold onto the 5th seed. At this point of the year its almost foolish to bet on a team with nothing to play for going against a team with something to play for. Take the Hawks

Both starters have been brutal out of the gates this year. I don’t think both can turn it around on the same day. At least one of these guys are going to struggle again. Both teams crush right handed pitching and I think this should be a pretty entertaining game that could go over the total by the 5th inning. Take the Over.

These two teams have met 4 times this year, with Oakland winning all 4. They won 11-2 last night, and swept the Astros in Houston in the firs week of April. The A's have won by 5, 3, 6, and 9 as they've covered the run line in all victories. Houston is 4-9 on the season and 3-4 on the road, while the A's are 1st in the AL West at 10-4 and 4-4 at home. Oakland leads the league with 85 runs (6.07 per game) and although their team batting average has fallen a bit they are still second in the league with a solid .349 OBP. The Astros have 53 runs this year (4.08 per game) and sit 23rd in team OBP at .301. Houston will send Brad Peacock to the mound who is 1-1 with a 4.82 ERA, .206 OBA and 1.18 WHIP over two starts. The Astros are 27-73 in their last 100 overall and just 18-56 in their last 74 road games. Oakland has won 6 straight meetings between these two teams and the last 4 in Oakland. Like mentioned earlier Oakland has beaten Houston 4 times this season all by at least 2 runs. With Griffin on the mound and the bats still hot after 11 runs last night I think Oakland will win by a handful tonight.

*3 Star MLB Total Value* The St. Louis Cardinals offense is one of the best in the National League. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if they led the league in runs scored this year. They have plenty of pop in the middle of the order and some pretty solid depth in the lineup as well. Jonathan Sanchez has been one of the worst starting pitchers in baseball over the last few years. His biggest problem has been walking too many batters. Adrian Johnson has one of the smallest strike zones of an umpire, so don't expect him to get calls in this one. Jake Westbrook has struggled badly with Johnson behind the dish as well. I like the value on the over.

*4 Star MLB Play of Day* The Texas Rangers are amazing at coming back from a loss. Texas is 64-24 in their last 88 games following a loss. They have a much better lineup than the Chicago Cubs, and they have an underrated starter on the hill here in Derek Holland. Holland has developed as a pitcher quite a bit in the past couple years. Travis Wood has started the year well, but this will be the first true offense he has faced. Texas will be much better than the Cubs this year, and I think this is a very nice value on the road team.

The Cubs are 0-7 in Wood's last 7 starts as a home underdog. Chicago is 0-6 in Wood's last 6 home starts against a team with a winning record. They are 0-5 in their last 5 games against a lefty. The Rangers are 4-0 in their last 4 Interleague road games. Take Texas here.

Los Angeles Angels vs Minnesota Twins

*3 Star MLB Total Domination* Jason Vargas and Mike Pelfrey are both pitchers who are extremely inconsistent. Both of them are capable of giving up a very big inning at any time. Pelfrey should struggle to get through the Angels very strong lineup. At the same time, Vargas has always struggled on the road and in three starts in Minnesota his ERA is above 8. The over is 7-0-1 in the Twins last 8 games after giving up 2 runs or less in the previous game. Basically, the Twins pitching staff is terrible and it is tough for them to string together too many strong outings. The over is 6-0-1 in the Angels last 7 as a road favorite. The over is 4-0-1 in the Angels last 5 Tuesday games. Take the over.
