The Yankees have tons of hitting stars on the DL. Wade Miley has continually defied the odds and pitched well in his first two years in the majors. He has an ERA of 1.60 in the month of April in his young career. C.C. Sabathia is in form early this year, and the DBacks have been struggling to score runs of late (3 or less in 3 of their last 4 games). It will be a cool night in the Bronx and the wind is expected to be blowing in. Phil Cuzzi is behind the dish and he has one of the biggest strike zones in the majors. The under is 5-0 in the Yankees last 5 home games. The under is 4-0 in the DBacks last 4 Interleague road games. The under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings between these teams in New York. History tells us that Joe Maddon's team will get on a nice run and contend in the AL East at some point this year. Tampa Bay is relatively healthy right now, and their bats should heat up soon. Matt Moore is one of the most talented young pitchers in the game, and I think this will be a breakout season for him. Chris Tillman is so unpredictable that I can't back him against a young phenom like Moore. Moore has had dominating stuff in his first two starts. Tampa Bay is 4-0 in Moore's last 4 starts. Take the Rays.

San Diego Padres vs Los Angeles Dodgers

*4 Star MLB Play of the Day* The Los Angeles Dodgers have lost the first two games of this series to the San Diego Padres. The Padres aren't a good team at all, and their lineup is extremely poor. Clayton Kershaw hasn't allowed a run at home so far this year, and he very well could pitch another shutout against the Padres. He has a 2.28 ERA against the Padres in his career, and the two Padres who have had some success against him (Quentin and Grandal) are both suspended for this game. Tyson Ross' wildness makes him prone to giving up a big inning here and there. The Dodgers lineup isn't tremendous right now, but it is leaps and bounds better than San Diego's.

Kershaw is the perfect guy to have the ball in a situation where the Dodgers are trying to avoid the sweep at home against an inferior team. I really like this spot. The Dodgers are 36-15 in Kershaw's last 51 home starts. They are 6-1 in his last 7 starts against the Padres. I'll never lay this big of a number on the moneyline, so we'll take the run line here. There were times when the City of Sacramento had terrible NBA teams but the loyal ?Kings Nation? always came out and supported their team. Sacramento's Mayor Kevin Johnson has done a tremendous job of building a team of ownership willing to give the fans their team back, yet the NBA leadership continues to drag their feet in the decision to permit the team to relocate in Seattle. How much will money will it take to keep Commissioner David Stern happy? - Who is kidding who in this bidding war? The season for the Kings have been marred by the uncertainty surrounding the future of the franchise and while it will be another losing year for the Kings, there have been some signs of promise in the first season under Keith Smart. The Kings have been erratic with the ability to beat good teams convincingly on occasion. Sacramento is a respectable (8-10) in the last (18) games and this squad does own a winning record at home on the season. In the last month, the Kings have wins over the Bulls, Clippers, and Warriors. Sacramento can do two things really well: It runs a fast-paced offense and when the shots are falling, it is incredibly difficult to beat. The Kings also have one of the best rebounding teams in the league and that prowess allows them to hang around in games against superior teams. When both of those areas are on, the Kings are a tough out. The Home team is (11-4-1) ATS in the last (16) meetings with the Clippers (2-5-1) ATS in the last (8) meetings in Sacramento's Sleep Train Arena and the Kings are (5-1) ATS in their last (6) Wednesday games. This may be the final home game in the capital of California and we crown Sacramento as "King for the Day".

Anaheim doesn't lose often these days and they in particular don't lose back to back games. So combine the fact they come off back to back losses to Colorado 1-4 at home and then lose to the Kings 1-2 on the road, they are likely not in a good mood facing Columbus at home. Plus, they have revenge from losing to Columbus 1-2 earlier this year in extra time so this is a revenge spot, plus coming off back to back losses as well. Columbus has won 4 straight to their credit but I think the home team gets the edge here given that they come off these tough losses, gearing up for playoff action and they will be more focused today despite getting all they can handle from Columbus. The Blue Jackets are 10-48 when they face a team on the road with a winning percentage of greater than 60% and the Ducks are 16-5 in their last 21 home games overall.

In fact, combine with how well Masterson is pitching right now plus the Indians leaving 19 runners on base in last night's loss, look for them to bounce-back here at home today. Aceves has given up 7 earned runs in his last 7 innings and has struggled a bit and for an Indians team that is looking to bounce-back here, I like them in this spot. Also, note that Masterson has a 3-1 with a 3.25era lifetime against the Red Sox and is likely to get up for them once again with his team on the bounce-back, with the edge in pitching and with Masterson pitching as well
as he is early on in the season.

This will be Boston first home game since the tragic events in Boston on Monday facing the Buffalo Sabres who season has been a mess. The teams have split the first four meetings with the total going over twice and stayin under twice. The Sabres are the same they have been all year, they defense has been hit hard by injuries and even before that they were horrible in their own zone. Boston on the other hand has improved on offense after picking up Jaromir Jagr at the deadline, the B's have gone over in three of their last four games. I think their will be a ton of emotion in this building tonight and I think Boston will be ready from the drop of the puck, this total of five goals doesn't show the capable offense of both teams or the lack of defense on the Buffalo side. The wake of the horrible terrorist attack in Boston caused postponement of the Celtics last home game with Indiana. It would not surprise me if Boston played this game with a lot of heart to create a much needed feel good for fans back in Boston. The one thing that Boston has is a lot of depth, which has helped them overcome a lot of injuries. Even the role players, who will get extended minutes here, should be playing well and focused. Toronto has had another season that has ended in disappointment, as they have won just 33 games, and were not even a marginal playoffs team. The Rudy Gay trade gave them a brief lift as they went 6-4 in his first 10 games, but just 10-15 in the last 25 - not much different than where they were before. Take the Celtics.
