4-unit Play Take #974 Tampa Bay Rays (-125) over Oakland A's (7:10pm ET) There's no question that A's starter Jarrod Parker is struggling right now. All pitchers have their down periods, but it's the severity of this slump that raises some serious eyebrows. In three starts this season, Parker is 0-2 with a 10.80 ERA and a 2.66 WHIP! He has easily been the worst pitcher in the major leagues this season so far and that leads to the next question - why? The young right-hander was solid as a rookie last year at 13-8 with a 3.47 ERA in 29 starts. I do believe in sophomore slumps, but this is pretty extreme. My guess is that he's hiding and injury or maybe has some personal issues going on. Whatever the explanation, Parker is definitely a pitcher to bet against right now. The Tampa Bay Rays will get the chance to take advantage and they could really use the help. They've been struggling to score runs lately, but this is a good lineup that will get it going soon. Jeremy Hellickson will back them up and he's coming off of a great effort in Boston earlier this week. The right-hander pitched seven innings while allowing only one run with nine strikeouts and one walk. The Rays can't be held down for very long and I like them to get the victory today.

5-unit Play Take #975 Cleveland Indians (-110) over Houston Astros (7:10pm ET) We've stayed away from betting against the Houston Astros this season, but today's game versus the Cleveland Indians provides us with a great opportunity. You won't see them priced this low very often, especially against a team that is as good as the Cleveland Indians are. Scott Kazmir will make his first start in two years today for the Tribe, and this is a perfect lineup to get acclimated with. The Astros are free swingers and lead the league in strikeouts by a huge margin. Kazmir has good stuff and if he's anything close to what he was a couple of years ago, he'll be a mainstay in the rotation for Cleveland. The Indians also boast a pretty talented lineup and I expect them to put up some runs this season. Despite the numbers right now, the Indians will certainly score more runs than the Astros by year's end. The Indians also boast a better bullpen and have a better defense. Philip Humber goes for the Astros today and he's one of the worst starters in baseball. He had a 6.44 ERA with the White Sox last season and he's striking out only half of the batters that he did last year. So give the Indians the starting pitching edge as well. I like the Indians in this game as they are better than the Astros is every facet of the game, and we've made this our 5-unit Game of the Week.

3 Unit Play. #918 Take Boston -135 over Kansas City (1:10 p.m., Saturday April 20)
This game was supposed to play last night but due to the security issues in Boston this game was PPD. Saturday afternoon in Boston I look for another outstanding outing from red hot starter Clay Buchholtz. Buchholtz is a perfect 3-0 this young season with an ERA of 0.41 and if he can keep the ball down tonight we should see another Red Sox 'W'. The Red Sox are the hottest team in the American League winning their last 6 games. Kansas City is 5-11 in their last 16 road games.

2 Unit Play. #962 Take Colorado -120 over Arizona (8:10 p.m., Saturday April 20)
Arizona starter Trevor Cahill has had some struggles this young season going 0-2 with an ERA of 3.50 but Cahill last start he pitched well losing 1-0 to the Dodgers. Colorado lately has been a scoring machine and they have won 7-straight games (scoring 49 runs in those 7-wins). If Cahill can stop the Rockies offense this game will get ugly quick and Colorado racks up 8-straight W's.

3 Unit Play Take #957 Atlanta -130 over Pittsburgh (7:05pm est):
The Atlanta Braves come in off one of their worst showings of the season last night, a 6-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates. It was the Braves first road loss this year and only their 3rd defeat overall in their first 16 games. Atlanta struggled against Pirates left-hander Wandy Rodriguez as that continues to be nothing new for these Braves as they are only hitting around .200 as a team this year versus lefties. Luckily for them they face off today versus a right-hander in James McDonald here in the third game of this series and Atlanta is an unbelievable 44-18 the last 62 games they have went up against a right-hand starter. McDonald hasn't pitched well at all here to start the season as he failed to make it out of the 2nd inning in his last start, a start that we once again seen his velocity down a few ticks. Keep in mind also that McDonald really struggled late last season as well as the Pirates have only won just one of his last six starts overall.

Pittsburgh has been horrific to start this season facing left-handed pitchers, as they come in with a team batting average at .157 on the year against southpaws thus far in 2013. They go up against the crafty veteran left-hander Paul Maholm in this one today. Maholm was a former Pirates starter for many years and he should know many of these Pirate hitters here in this game. To say Maholm has been excellent so far in 2013 would be an understatement. Not only has he pitched a scoreless 20 1/3 innings of baseball to begin the 2013 year, he also didn't allow an earned all spring training as well. Now Maholm gets to face the league's worst hitting team against left-handers here in this one.

This price is a little steep compared to what we usually like to lay on a team but there is no doubt that this game still offers solid line value and should be priced much higher than it currently is. Take Atlanta in this game.

2-Unit Play. Take #952 Cincinnati (-1.5, -120) over Miami (1 p.m., Saturday, April 20)
The Marlins are just 17-42 in their last 59 road games and after a rare win last night I think they will fall today. The Reds have been excellent against left-handed pitching and they should get their cuts in against Wade LeBlanc today. LeBlanc is 0-3 in this three starts this year and his ERA is approaching 7.00. I think the Reds rebound from last night's winner.

2-Unit Play. Take #965 N.Y. Yankees (-105) over Toronto (1 p.m., Saturday, April 20)
I was never buying the Blue Jays this year and I am not buying Mark Buehrle. This is a very veteran Yankees lineup and all of these guys have a lot of experience against Buehrle, so they won't be fooled by his offspeed stuff. Buehrle had a great outing on Monday against his former team in what was a very emotional start for him. But in his two prior starts he had given up 12 runs in 9.2 innings and he has been getting rocked. The Yankees are playing much better than anyone is giving them credit for and I think they can get the job done here today.

2-Unit Play. Take #953 Washington (-150) over N.Y. Mets (3 p.m., Saturday, April 20)
The Nationals had the bases loaded with nobody out in a 4-1 game yesterday and didn't score. They were that close to getting into last night's game but I think they are going to bounce back today against New York. Matt Harvey is a stud. Jeremy Hefner is decidedly not. He has a 7.20 ERA so far this year and he hasn't had a start in 10 days. He was used in relief in Colorado two nights ago and got hit hard. Washington is countering with Gio Gonzalez and I think that gives the visitors a big advantage in this one. I think Washington evens this series up.

I like the Phillies in this one tonight. They bounced back on Friday and got a needed home win. I think they will make it two in a row. Lance Lynn is on the mound for the Cardinals in this one. He had a surprise year last year but is struggling early this season. Lynn has a 5.40 ERA this season and could struggle today. The Phillies are going with Cliff Lee who is off to a very strong start. He has just a 1.52 ERA and has won two of his three starts. The Phillies have won six of nine against the Cardinals and will get this one.

2-Unit Play. Take #978 Texas (-1.5, +105) over Seattle (8 p.m., Saturday, April 20)
The Rangers won easily last night. I think that they are going to do the same thing today. These two teams just faced these two starting pitchers last Sunday. This is the second time going against them in a week. I think the Rangers will make adjustments against Brandon Maurer. Maurer was roughed up in his first two starts. I expect him to be roughed up today. The Rangers are 65-28 at home against the Mariners and they will get this win tonight.

4-Unit Play. Take #968 Boston (-145) over Kansas City (1:10 p.m., Saturday, April 20)
Clay Buchholz has benefited tremendously from being reunited with his former pitching coach and current manager John Farrell. Buchholz is 3-0 with a 0.41 ERA and has not allowed a run in his last 18 innings. He has given up just 11 hits and struck out 23 in 22 innings so far this year and is 3-1 with a 2.19 ERA against Kansas City in his career. Kansas City counters with James Shields, who has gotten off to a good start going 1-2 with a 3.43 ERA on the season. However, he is just 3-9 with an ERA over 4 in Boston. David Ortiz should return to the line up and Fenway is going to be rocking and filled with emotions. Boston will be playing for more than just a win today and I think they get the win.

3-Unit Play. Take #974 Tampa Bay (-125) over Oakland (7:10 p.m., Saturday, April 20)
Tampa Bay's offense may be finally coming around. They averaged just 3 runs per game over their 1st 13 games but have averaged 6.7 rpg while winning 2 of their last 3 contests. Ben Zobrist leads them with 12 RBI's on the season and Evan Longoria (has reached base in all 16 games this season) has 4 home runs in his last 5 games. Jeremy Hellickson took a no decision on Monday as the Rays lost 3-2 to Boston, but he was solid striking out 9 and giving up 2 runs on 3 hits through 7 innings. Hellickson will need to bring quality stuff because Oakland has had double digit hits in all 7 road contests this year. Jarrod Parker (0-2, 10.80) has lasted just 3 1/3 innings his past 2 starts for Oakland and he was 0-1 in 2 starts against Tampa last year giving up 3 runs through six innings in both contests. I like Tampa at home tonight to get it done.
