Check out our quick-hitting betting notes on Friday’s National League action:
Los Angeles Dodgers at Pittsburgh Pirates (-159, 8)
Weather: High-60’s. Clear skies expected. Winds will blow out to right field at 8 mph.
Probable starters: Dodgers RH Stephen Fife (1-1, 3.78 ERA) vs. Pirates LH Jeff Locke (5-1, 2.39).
Fife has never faced the Pirates, and no player on Pittsburgh’s roster has a major-league at-bat against him, while Locke is 0-2 with a 5.73 ERA in three games (two starts) lifetime against Los Angeles. Suspended L.A. players as a result of Tuesday's brawl: J.P. Howell, Skip Schumacher, Ronald Belisario Don Mattingly and Mark McGwire. The Pirates are 6-1 in their last seven games as a home favorite.
St. Louis Cardinals at Miami Marlins (122, 7.5)
Weather: Roof will most likely be closed due to thunderstorm risk.
Probable starters: Cardinals RH Jake Westbrook (2-1, 1.62 ERA) vs. Marlins RH Jose Fernandez (3-3, 3.17)
Westbrook will make his first start since mid-May after being sidelined with elbow inflammation. Fernandez has pitched well at home, allowing just five runs in as many starts - but has yielded three homers. The Cardinals are 6-0 in their last six Friday games.
Chicago Cubs at New York Mets (-127, 7.5)
Weather: High-60s. 40 percent chance of showers. Winds will blow from left to right at 10 mph.
Probable starters: Cubs RH Edwin Jackson (2-8, 5.76 ERA) vs. Mets RH Shaun Marcum (0-7, 4.96)
Marcum can't buy a win this season, but he does own a 4-0 career mark versus the Cubs. The under is 4-1 in the last five meetings between the clubs and 4-0 in Marcum’s last four starts.
Milwaukee Brewers at Cincinnati Reds (-140, 8.5)
Weather: Mid-70s. Clear skies expected. Winds will blow left to right at 6 mph.
The Reds swept a three-game set from the Brewers at home by a combined 22-11 from May 10-12, but Milwaukee has actually done quite well for itself lately with wins in five of the last six games. The under is 8-0 in Lohse’s last eight starts vs. a team with a winning record.
San Francisco Giants at Atlanta Braves (-132, 7)
Weather: Low-80s. Clear skies expected. Winds will blow in from left field at 3 mph.
Probable starters: Giants LH Madison Bumgarner (5-4, 3.58 ERA) vs. Braves RH Kris Medlen (3-6, 2.87)
The Braves return home after being swept in San Diego, and will face the last team to hand them three losses in a row. The San Francisco Giants defeated Atlanta at home May 10-12, outscoring the Braves 23-4. The over is 6-1 in the last seven meetings.
Philadelphia Phillies at Colorado Rockies (-116, 9.5)

Rockies SS Troy Tulowitzki reportedly suffered a broken rib Thursday against Washington and could require up to six weeks to recover. Outfielders Carlos Gonzalez and Dexter Fowler also were hurt, although their injuries are not considered serious. Philadelphia won seven of nine meetings in 2012 and has taken a remarkable 27 of the last 33 encounters with Colorado dating back to Sept. 2007.

Buehrle has registered five quality outings over his last six starts - including a seven-inning stint last time out that saw him limit Texas to a run on four hits. Wilson suffered his second straight loss and fifth in his last six decisions after allowing four runs in five innings against Boston Saturday. The Yankees are 1-6 in Pettitte's last seven road starts vs. Angels and they could be fatigued from an 18-inning affair last night in Oakland.
