Should Spurs backers be worried with Crawford as Game 6 ref?
Spurs backers should be cautious: Joey Crawford is part of the officiating crew for Game 6 of the NBA Finals Tuesday night.
Crawford is pretty much public enemy No. 1 for the San Antonio Spurs.
Crawford and Tim Duncan, of course, have their own history. Crawford called a technical foul on Duncan as he sat on the bench back in a 2007 playoff game against the Dallas Mavericks. Duncan, and basically everyone involved in the game or at the arena that day, was baffled at the call.
Crawford went on to challenge Duncan to fisticuffs and exchanged heated words with San Antonio's big man. Subsequently, Joey was suspended by the NBA for the remainder of those 2007 playoffs.
Perhaps this is all water under the bridge in 2013.
Crawford has already been involved in the series as he was part of the crew which officiated Game 2. The game was officiated fairly by all accounts. Each team had 14 free throws. Miami had 17 personal fouls to San Antonio's 14. Nothing was glaring in Game 2. Miami won the game 103-84 and the Heat covered as 6.5-point home faves.
Here are some stats for Crawford:
Home Team ATS season: 37-36-1
Home fave with spread between -5 and -9.5 (Miami is -6.5): 13-9
Over/Under season: 29-42
O/U between 185 and 194.5 (total Tuesday is 189.5): 11-20
2012/2013 Spurs with Crawford as ref: 4-3 SU and ATS, 2-4-1 O/U
2012/2013 Heat with Crawford as ref: 7-3 SU and ATS, 3-7 O/U
San Antonio is a 7-point road underdog in Game 6 and a +110 pup to win the NBA Championship (Miami -130) despite holding a 3-2 series lead heading into Tuesday.
My 50 Dime winner for tonlght is on the SAN ANTONIO SPURS over the Miami Heat in Game 6 of the NBA Finals, as the Heat try to stay alive while the Spurs take aim at their fifth NBA title in franchdise history. I see he line everywhqre - in Las Vegas and Offshore - is currently Spurs +7.5.
5 DIME play on San Francisco and Matt Cain at home against San Diego and Andrew Cashner. List both pitchers. The Giants are -150 as of 11:05 AM Pacific.
For Tuesday night, Raise the Bar 1500♦ Winner is thehost Miami Heat agalnst the visitding San Antonio Spurs. At the time I relqase this selection, the Heat are -7 1/2 point favorites over the Spurs.
