UNDER the total of 51 - Kansas City at Philadelphia
8:25 p.m. ET
Kansas City has one of the most underrated defenses in the NFL. They are loaded with young playmakers who have limited their two opponents this year, Dallas and Jacksonville, to a total of 19 points. Granted, Philadelphia is much more explosive offensively than either of those teams but KC has been solid defensively especially on the road where they have held 4 of their last 5 opponents under the posted total dating back to last year. Go UNDER.
Play against September home favorites coming off an ATS loss (80-53-8, 60.2% ATS) Many times, teams that are favored following an ATS loss are favored more because of reputation than because of performance on the field, and that makes the chalk vulnerable in these situations. Of course there will be situations where these teams bounce back well, but as you can see by the September record, the teams have been overvalued much more often than not. Week 3 is an extremely busy week for this angle as of now.
Qualifier: Kansas City +3 at Philadelphia
Play on the underdog when two Bad Teams face each other in September
(51-25-4, 67.1% ATS)
This has always been one of our favorite angles and it goes back to the theory we just mentioned in the previous trend, that being that bad teams that are suddenly expected to win often crack. Meanwhile, the underdogs often feel disrespected by being underdogs vs. such weak opponents, and they usually use that for inspiration. Qualifier: Kansas City +3

KANSAS CITY (301) AT PHILADELPHIA (302)
Latest Line: Eagles -3; Total: 50
Former Eagles head coach Andy Reid brings his current unbeaten Chiefs team to Philadelphia on Thursday night. Kansas City has already matched its win output from last year, holding opponents to 9.0 PPG and 248 total YPG. But Chip Kelly's high-powered Eagles have 31.5 PPG and 477 total YPG this season thanks in large part to RB LeSean McCoy's 356 total yards. Kansas City hasn't beaten Philly since 1998, losing by a combined 94-55 score during three straight series defeats. However, Chiefs QB Alex Smith picked the Eagles apart when he last faced them two years ago, throwing for 291 yards (8.8 YPA), 2 TD and 0 INT.
