        NCAAB

        Tuesday, November 26

Valparaiso snapped 3-game skid by pounding James Madison by 37 in last game; Crusaders are turning ball over 22.4% of time- their two wins are vs teams outside top 200, their losses vs teams in top 120. UCF has made only 53.8% of FT's (bottom 5 in US) in 2-1 start, with win over a subpar Miami team by 5. Horizon League favorites are 5-6 vs spread.

George Mason is off to 4-1 start, 1-1 vs top 150 teams; they're turning ball over 23.6% of time (bottom 15 in US), holding teams to 27.8% on arc- they lost by 16 at Iona, won by 14 at Lamar. Princeton made 38.9% of its 3's in 3-1 start, losing by 3 to Butler; none of three vicitims are in top 200. Atlantic 13 road dogs are 8-5; Ivy League favorites are 3-1.

First road game for 5-0 Illinois club whose best win was vs #134 Valpo; Illini has rebounded 47% of its misses so far- that'll end here, vs UNLV frontline that is decent on boards but is also blocking 14.5% of shots by its oppoennts. Rebels' problem is they can't shoot (44.1% inside arc, 50.5% from foul line- 3rd worst in US). Big Dozen road favorites; 7-4.

West Virginia is 4-1, losing by 5 at #137 Va Tech; its best win was over #200 Duquesne by 13; WVU is protecting ball better and making 43.6% from arc, improved over LY. #187 Old Dominion is 4-1, losing in OT to Missouri State in opener, then beating four stiffs; teams are shooting 37% against them, both inside and outside arc, which is very unusual.

Wisconsin is 6-0, scored 89 ppg in last three games; they're making 45% of 3's, and beat three top 90 teams, including short-handed Florida by 6. Saint Louis is veteran team thats won lot of games; they're 5-0 this year, with only one victim ranked better than #199. Billikens force turnovers 22.8% of time, hold foes to 20.3% from arc- those are Badger strengths.

Minnesota only played seven guys in 75-67 loss to Syracuse Monday; now they'll be facing a fellow pressing team in Arkansas, which played 11 kids 10+ minutes in its 85-77 loss to Cal. Gophers are 5-1; only good win is by 15 at Richmond. Razorbacks' best win is over SMU by 11. Big Dozen teams are 5-6 vs spread on neutral courts; SEC teams are 3-4.

California is holding teams to 35% from floor in its 5-0 start- they used six kids more than 8:00 Monday vs pressing Arkansas, playing four of its starters 33+ minutes, but 2-3 zone is less physically demanding to go against. 5-0 Syracuse was 22-27 on line against Gophers with only ten (+9) turnovers. Cal's big guy Solomon got poked in eye late in game, did not finish game, but that may also be because he is 40% from foul line.

Dayton was down 16 in first half last night, rallied to upset Gonzaga, as Flyers had 18 offensive boards and survived shaky (21-35) shooting on foul line. Dayton used four subs 11+ minutes. Baylor went 11-25 from arc in 92-77 win over D-II Chaminade, which got 42 points (10-16 from arc) from a guard. No Baylor player played more than 28 minutes.

5-0 Pitt was up 23 at half, cruised past Texas Tech; Panthers recruit a lot in NYC, so they'll have slight crowd edge here. Pitt hasn't played top 100 team yet; #39 Stanford held off Houston in nightcap Monday, with three Cardinal playing 36+ minutes. Stanford had been making 41% from arc before going 7-21 Monday. ACC neutral court favorites are 7-2.

Wichita State shot 59.6% from floor, beat DePaul of Big East by 18; it was 52-34 at half in mostly stress-free game. Shockers were 28-37 from foul line, 3-8 from arc- they get ball inside. BYU used three kids 34+ in tough 86-82 win over Texas; Cougars made 10-12 from arc, held Texas tp 38% from floor. Luckily for BYU, Longhorns also missed 11 FTs. BYU will challenge Wichita's defense; they can score.

Manhattan is 3-1 against four teams rated higher than #226 Fordham; in LY's game, Jaspers survived 27 turnovers (-12) to win 67-58, getting to foul line 33 (26-33) times. Manhattan won last two series games as they both struggle to rebuild once-proud programs, with Jaspers further along in process. Fordham is 2-2, losing by 12 to Sacred Heart in last game.

Hard to tell much about Murray State, which is 0-3 vs D-I teams, with all three games on road; Racers lost PG Jackson (knee) in preseason, so that hurts, added to graduation losses. Middle Tennessee is 4-1, losing to Florida by 20, beating gaggle of stiffs; Blue Raiders are moving up this year to C-USA- they're top 40 team in experience, but have history of flopping in conference tournaments.

4-0 Utah State already has 71-64 win at decent UCSB; they're shooting 46.6% behind arc (#6 in US), 76% from foul line as they visit Weber St. team they've beaten four of last five times, losing last visit to Ogden by 10. LY. Weber State hasn't played in 10 days; they're 0-2, losing by 21 at Colorado State, 9 at BYU- they're 2nd-to-last in US forcing TO's.

NCAA Basketball Play of the Day November 26, 2013 3:01 AM by GT Staff

Saint Louis at Wisconsin -1½ at 5:30 p.m. PST

We will lay the small price with the Badgers against a very good Saint Louis squad as the Badgers have gone 9-2 in this young season but like their counterpart the football Badgers they also are hard to beat at home as they have gone 6-0 SU and ATS on their home court.

                    528 Wisconsin -1½

                      NBA Basketball

501 Brooklyn Nets / 502 Toronto Raptors UNDER The Total ( no line as yet): There is one thing we can say about the Nets is that they just don’t score and they have lost five straight games for that reason. The Raptors have the 6th best defense in the league and will shut down what little offense the Nets can produce, under is the play.

                      NCAA Football

302 Northern Illinois -35: This is a lot of lumber to lay but the Huskies are sitting on an undefeated season and will not let up in this last home game, we will be looking for the blow out tonight at Huskie Stadium in DeKalb, Ill., if the weather is ok.

Results 2013-14 NCAA FB (0-0-0) Overall Record: 74-39-3

                      NCAA Basketball

510 Marshall -1½: Western Kentucky has gone 2-4 ATS on the road while the Thundering Heard has gone a perfect 5-0 SU and ATS at home.

520 UNLV +3½: We like the Rebels chances at home as a small dog, as Illinois has gone 1-3 on the road so far this season, the Rebs have the talent, they just need to wake up.

584 UC Davis -5½: Sacramento State averaging just 58 points on the road while UC Davis has averaged 80 points a game at home.

The Northern Illinois Huskies look to finish up a perfect season here tonight against Western Michigan. The Huskies are laying a big number here tonight. However they do have some numbers on their side. They have won and covered the last 3 times when favored by 31 or more points and are a healthy 14-2 to the spread as a favorite of 10 or more vs losing teams. Western Michigan has struggled all season and have some mediocre numbers as they are 1-8 straight up and to the spread on Turf, 0-3 straight up and ats this year vs winning teams and have failed to cover 8 of the last 11 as a road dog of 14 or higher. Its no wonder they are 0-6-1 to the spread in their last 7 trips here.. Take Northern Illinois tonight. Tuesday card has the NCAAB Game of the Month and a Solid 5* NBA System Play. Jump on and Cash out on Tuesday. For the College Football Play its Northern Illinois. GC

                          WUNDERDOG
CFB Game: Western Michigan at Northern Illinois (Tuesday 11/26 7:00 PM Eastern)
                          Pick: Northern Illinois -35 (-110)
Northern Illinois is 11-0 and have not lost a game over the last two years outside of their Bowl
game last season vs. Florida State. The Huskies are in position to make it two straight BCS Bowl
appearances but must stay ahead of Fresno State to do so, as the Bulldogs are also unbeaten
and on their tail. NIU certainly has a good situation based on past teams in this spot, as unbeaten
teams of 10 wins or more that play as heavy chalk as a home favorite of more than -23 have
covered 65.2% of the time since 1990! Western Michigan has a lone win this season by a single
point over UMass, and they come here a very unthreatening 1-10. The Huskies need to keep the
good impression on to maintain their standing as a BCS Bowl candidate, so there will be no letting
up in this one. The Broncos are just 1-8 ATS in their last nine conference games, and have been
even worse when playing in Northern Illinois, as they have taken the doughnut their last eight
trips at 0-8 ATS. Lay the points and play on Northern Illinois.

Miss. St. QB Prescott out this week vs. Ole Miss

Mississippi State QB Dak Prescott will miss Thursday night's game against state rival Ole Miss and likely the remainder of the regular season.

The odds for the Thanksgiving SEC showdown are currently off the board as Mississippi State (5-6, 6-5 ATS) will more than likely look to third string QB Damian Williams to guide the Bulldogs to a win against the Ole Miss Rebels (7-4, 6-5 ATS) and clinch their fourth consecutive appearance in a bowl game.

Williams entered Saturday's game at Arkansas after backup Tyler Russell injured his shoulder, and scored his first career touchdown for the Bulldogs, which turned out to be the game winner.

Prescott may be able to return to action if the Bulldogs if they do qualify for the Bowl season. He leads Mississippi State in passing and rushing yards, with 1,542 and 722 respectively.

Beyond the BCS: Big profits from NCAAF small conferences
                              By DOC'S SPORTS

Some of the best betting value in college football is hiding beyond the BCS, in the small conferences. Each week, Covers Experts’ Doc’s Sports will look at the little programs that could help you make big cash this college season.

Team to watch: Alabama-Birmingham Blazers (2-9 SU, 4-7 ATS)

This week: -14.5 vs. Southern Mississippi

UAB may be better than its five-game losing streak suggests. As a 17-point underdog last Saturday, it extended an 8-3 Rice team to overtime before falling 37-34. This week's matchup should be a good one for the Blazers. The weakness of their team (232.2 rushing yards allowed per game) is going up against a futile Southern Mississippi rushing attack (70.3 ypg). On the other side of the ball, UAB averages 181.1 yards on the ground while the Golden Eagles give up 231.8.

Southern Mississippi has not won a game since the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl on Dec. 24, 2011. For those counting, that's 23 consecutive losses. That also means zero career wins for head coach Todd Monken, who replaced UNC-bound Larry Fedora after the 2011 campaign. Freshman quarterback Nick Mullens threw two pick-sixes in last week's 42-21 setback against Middle Tennessee. The Golden Eagles lost 27-19 as 4-point home favorites against UAB last year and they are now 0-4 ATS in the last four head-to-head meetings.

Team to beware: Western Michigan Broncos (1-10 SU, 3-8 ATS)

This week: +35 at Northern Illinois

The 1-10 Broncos are still playing with freshman quarterback Zach Terrell, who has made five starts in place of senior Tyler Van Tubbergen. Only once has Terrell thrown for more touchdowns than interceptions (Western Michigan's lone win of the season, 31-30 scalp of Massachusetts on Oct. 26). Tuesday signals the final home game for Northern Illinois QB Jordan Lynch. He has thrown seven TDs and zero picks in his last four games for the undefeated and 16th-ranked Huskies.

Western Michigan is 1-8 ATS in its last nine conference games, 1-7 ATS in its last eight overall, 2-13-1 ATS in its last 16 against Northern Illinois, and 0-8 ATS in its last eight road trips in this head-to-head series.

Total team: Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (4-7 SU, 2-9 O/U)

This week: 48 at Texas-San Antonio

Louisiana Tech will likely be without running back Kenneth Dixon and wide receiver Andrew Guillot for Saturday's contest at Texas-San Antonio. Dixon (knee) has 151 rushes for 917 yards and four touchdowns (plus one receiving) in 10 games. Guillot (arm) has 26 receptions for 320 yards and four touchdowns in seven games. The Bulldogs have scored 14 points in each of their last two outings. Without Dixon in last week’s loss to Tulsa, they attempted 43 passes and were picked off four times.

The under is 4-1 in Louisiana Tech's last five conference games and 9-2 in its last 11 overall. As for Texas-San Antonio, the under is 7-1 in its last eight against Conference-USA opposition and 5-1 in its last six overall.
