Game: Washington at New York (7:30 PM Eastern)
Pick: Washington +2.5 (-115) at Bovada
Life in the Big Apple was rosy a year ago as the Knicks put it all together and made a credible playoff run. That life under the big microscope is often hard to live by, and the finicky Knicks have gotten off slow and are truly feeling the pressure here. There have been few Garden parties this season, as the Knicks' 4-8 MSG record would be quick to point out. Washington hasn't lived up to the potential either, and have dropped four straight, but the Knicks haven't been on the level of their last three opponents in Atlanta, Denver, and the Los Angeles Clippers, and I think the Wizards respond here as they are 5-0 ATS in their last five following an ATS loss. The Knicks, on one day of rest, are thinking too much as indicated by a poor 1-10 ATS mark in their last 11. Make the play on Washington.

3 Unit Play. Take #705 Over 192 - Detroit at Indiana (7:05 p.m., Monday, December 16)
This play is all on the defense of the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons 'D' is given up an average of
110.4ppg. Yes I know the Pacers defense is outstanding but I see Detroit trying to make this a
high pace game.
Look for Indiana to score on the weak minded Pistons team and wouldn't shock me to see Indiana hit the century mark tonight at home.
Detroit is 6-0 O/U following a SU loss and
the Pistons are also 5-1 O/U against Eastern Conference teams. Indiana is 5-0 O/U following a SU
win.
3-Unit Play. #733. Take Mississippi Valley State +18.5 over Northwestern (Monday @ 7pm est).
This is a good opportunity for us take another big road underdog. If you notice, the total for this game would not be very high (for the books that have this total). And, to get this many points from a team that on a relatively short total is worth it. Also note that Mississippi Valley State is 3-6 overall but they have steadily gotten better as far as their blowout losses. This is a team that has faced some of the toughest competition in the nation building up their program including losing to Oklahoma State by 55 points on the road, losing to Texas A&M by 24 on the road (who is ranked higher than Northwestern by about 20 power ranking spots) and losing to Georgia Tech by 17 points on the road who is a top 75 team in my power ranking. So, now this team faces a top 110 power ranking team and I would not be surprised at a similar result as they hang tough on a good public fade on a limited card on Monday Night as the public will likely take the more recognized school. I actually have this game around 14 so to get this at a 4.5 point differential is worth it for us as anything of more than 3 point significance is worth of note. This is similar in some ways to Western Michigan the other day over Missouri which we had at +16.5 and ended in less than a 8 point loss for Western Michigan for a nice win. The Wildcats of Northwestern are 0-4 ATS when facing losing teams with a winning percentage of less than 40% and the Wildcats are 0-5 ATS coming off a straight up win and as they come off a big win against Western Michigan (holding them to 35 points), I suspect they have a let down here against the Delta Devils.

3-Unit Play. #708. Take Atlanta Hawks -5.5 over LA Lakers (Monday @ 7:35pm est).
Kobe Bryant back and 5 points! Seems too easy right as the Lakers come off their first win with Kobe? It likely is. The Hawks come off a loss against the Knicks which wasn't entirely their fault as it was a big revenge game for the Knicks after the Hawks crushed them at home the other night. Now the Hawks look to rebound at home where they have played well at 8-4 and they face a Lakers team that finally got their first win with Kobe back from the injury as this young group is playing well. But, don't get too excited about the win as it was against the Bobcats and Kobe always gets up to face Michael Jordan's team - he doesn't get a chance to play him so this is his way of competing against him every chance he gets. This is the same guy that chose the number #24 so he can be one above MJ as well. Now as this team faces the Hawks who are a deeper and more talented team, I like Atlanta to bounce-back at home, have a bit of revenge against the Lakers from losing by a bucket last year at Staples and the Lakers to likely lose as once again as they have not gelled completely since Kobe is back in the lineup as it will likely take some time to gel. With the public taking the road underdog again (just like they did against the Thunder which was an easy blowout win, look for something similar here as the public likely takes a hit once again). The home team is 9-3 ATS in the last 12 meetings between these two teams and the favorite is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings between these squads.
Indian Cowboy's Picks For NHL Hockey
3-Unit Play. #2. Take Columbus Blue Jackets -130 over Winnipeg Jets (Monday @ 7:05pm est).
The re-signing of goalie Sergei Bobrovsky was a top priority for the Blue Jackets organization and once again ownership has given up the resources to build a winning team. Bobrovsky is a terrific player and an outstanding young man with a work ethic that is second to none and was a well-deserved winner of the Vezina Trophy last season as the NHL's top goaltender. After a major turnaround last season, the Blue Jackets have plenty of momentum on their side. The addition of Nathan Horton who joins an already impressive cast up front and Marian Gaborik has performed well in a contract year. There is not a lot of goal-scoring talent in Winnipeg outside of Evander Kane and Andrew Ladd and the Jets defense is average at best. The Winnipeg Jets won only (14) times on the road last season, which was second-worst in the Eastern Conference. The Blue Jackets are (4-1) in their last (5) home games while the Jets are (0-4) in the last (4) meetings in Columbus and win-less at (0-6) in the last (6) meetings. With the Jets being on an up tick winning 4 of their last 6 including losing a tight 1 goal contest to a solid St. Louis team, I like them to continue to play well and likely win this contest at home today as they have consistently matched up well against St. Louis.

STATFOX FORECASTER
DETROIT (333) AT BALTIMORE (334)
Latest Line: Detroit -7.0; Total: 50.0
The surging Ravens visit the slumping Lions on Monday night. While Baltimore has won three in a row, capped off by an improbable 29-26 win over the Vikings last week when 5 TD were scored in the final 2:05, Detroit is 1-3 (SU and ATS) in its past four games and is now tied for the NFC North lead with Chicago. But the Ravens are just 1-5 SU (2-4 ATS) on the road this year, while the Lions are 4-2 SU (3-3 ATS) at home with 31.7 PPG and 477 total YPG. Detroit, which could be without top RB Reggie Bush (calf), crushed Baltimore 35-17 in the last home meeting in this series, but the Ravens rolled to a 48-3 win in 2009.
FORECASTER: Detroit 23, Baltimore 19
Quick turnaround for 2-9 Oakland squad that lost 67-63 to Michigan St Saturday, albeit a depleted Spartan squad; they led State by one at half. Oakland's program must make lot of $$; they've played hardest schedule in country up til now. Inexperienced Illinois State hasn't played in nine days, is 3-1 vs teams ranked outside top 100, losing to Vermont by 11.
Cleveland State lost three of last four games, losing at Kentucky by 7, in triple OT to Drexel; Vikings are 3-1 at home, with only loss to Akron by 12- they're turning ball over 19.8% of time. Western Carolina is 3-6 vs D-I teams, 0-5 vs teams in top 200, with four losses by 13+-- this is the first game in nine days for Vikings, first game in 12 days for Western.
First game in nine days for Delaware squad that lost at Notre Dame by 5; Blue Hens are 0-3 vs top 100 teams, with losses by total of 11 points. North Dakota State won at Notre Dame last week, then lost at Ohio St by 17 Saturday; Bison are 1-3 vs top 100 teams, losing by 13-1-17- they are shooting 56.1% inside arc (#15 in US), but 30.7% outside arc (#269).
Cal-Riverside beat Northern Colorado 69-63 LY, holding on for dear life after leading 46-18 with 13:18 left; Highlanders lost last three D-I games this month by 1-3-10 points; they shoot 25.5% from arc (11th-worst in US), 61% from foul line (15th-worst). Northern is 1-2 vs teams ranked in top 150, with all three games decided by 7 or less points- they won by a hoop at Kansas State in their season opener.
