Baltimore vs. Detroit - December 16, 2013 - 8:40 PM
Pick: Your pick will be graded at Pinnacle @ Under 49 -108
Expert: Ben Burns
Evaluation: Dec 16 - 8:40 PM
Reason For Pick:
I'm playing on Baltimore and Detroit to finish UNDER the total. I waited to post this one, as I hoped the number would climb. I'm ready to jump in now though. Both teams are off high-scoring games last week. Those results have helped in keeping this O/U line generously high.
Strike Point Sports 8-Unit Play. Take #702 Indiana (-10.5) over Detroit (7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 16)
This is a tough spot for the Pistons. Detroit played in a heartbreaker last night versus the Portland Trialblazers. Detroit had a double-digit fourth quarter lead and they ended up losing by two in overtime. This was an extra-session that the Pistons didn't need. Now they have to play in a back-to-back in Indiana. The Pacers are not only one of the best teams in the East, they are THE BEST home team in the East. Indiana is 15-5 ATS in their last 20 home games. The Pacers are playing their third home game in a row as they have been in their home beds since last Monday. Indiana is rested and ready to blow out the Pistons at home. Yes, they have to travel to Miami in their next game, but this isn't the type of team that looks ahead. The Pacers beat Washington (a team similar to Detroit) earlier in the year as a double-digit favorite, at home, before heading out on the road for a big game. A lot of people will take too much stock in the Pacers last home game as they struggled a bit with Charlotte. If one takes a closer look at that game, it was just a tough spot. Indiana was coming off huge road games versus the Clippers, Portland, San Antonio, and a home game versus Miami. Those are all huge games, and they took a bit of wind out of Indiana's sails. Now that they have one game under their belt following that tough stretch they are ready and waiting for the Pistons. This is Detroit's third game in four nights and they just won't have anything in the tank for the second half. They will give it their all early, but when Indiana makes a run they will roll over and die. The Pacers win this game by 15+ points. It has a 105-90 type feel to it. The favorite is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings and the Pistons are just 2-9 ATS in their last 11 trips to Indiana.
