OC Dooley:“2 UNIT” NHL LATE NIGHT UNDERDOG (Wild +180 at Kings in a 10:35 eastern faceoff): This is a unique REVENGE wager as these two teams met way back on opening night in Minnesota where Los Angeles escaped with a triumph decided by a ONE goal margin. Late this evening is the rematch out west where the Wild are attempting to WIN for the fourth time in the last five visits to Los Angeles. Even though Minnesota is 2-0 ever since putting an end to a lengthy six-game losing streak, admittedly the deck appears stacked against the Wild who just lost points-leader Mikko Koivu (broken ankle) to injury. On the flipside the Kings finally have back star goaltender Jonathan Quick from a groin injury that caused him to miss 24 different starts. But my research indicates that in the past three years when off a “margin” home victory where the team triumphed by “two plus” goals in margin, Minnesota has gone an excellent 12-3 in the ensuing contest

526 Rhode Island +7 Bookmaker.com vs 525 St. Louis
Analysis:
The Line: This line has been up and down dropping to to 6.5 and has seen 7.5 as well but back to the original number at this writing. My best guess is that it will settle lower than what it is not but fairly stable throughout the betting window.
Why We Bet It: There is no doubt that the Rams have been a major pain in the ass for St Louis with 5 consecutive straight-up wins dating back to the 2010 season. They actually match-up well again this year with this team and even have the better bench which is important as we get into conference play. St Louis has another quality team this year, winning a lot of games both at home and on the road. But road numbers have not been as good as when they play on their court where they simply take care of the ball better. That is the primary reason why they are just 2-4 ATS when traveling this year, different results in previous years. This has been a Dog series the last few years and it has also been an UNDER series. That gives us even more value with these points tonight. Other factors lend itself to our number being St Louis -3.3 and that's good enough for me to play it on what will have to be a 3 Possession cover by the road conference team here..
Biggest Concerns: No major concerns here except for the fact that we would be getting a better number had URI not beat LSU just 3 days ago.
Added Notes: You can bet this one for the Full amount down to +6 and decrease your wager after that..
See spot. See spot bet: This week's best spot bet opportunities
By JASON LOGAN
Spot bets are classic handicapping practices that have proven profitable no matter what sport you’re betting. Whether it’s a team looking past this week’s opponent, one coming off a hard-fought victory, or a rough patch of schedule, bettors can find value picking their spots.
Lookahead spot
The Clemson Tigers need to be careful not to look past this Thursday’s home date with the Florida State Seminoles. Lurking behind FSU is a huge matchup with the Duke Blue Devils in the Littlejohn Coliseum Saturday.
The Tigers have stumbled against some of the tougher competition this season and a win over the Blue Devils could pave the way for a solid ACC run. However, Clemson needs to overcome a Seminoles squad that defeated Clemson three times last year – 1-2 ATS – including a 73-69 victory over the Tigers in the ACC tournament.
Letdown spot
The Chicago Blackhawks are trying to hang on to the Central Division lead but have come up short when trying to string wins together. Chicago has alternated wins and losses in its last six, heading into Wednesday’s home game against the Rangers, and have a busy weekend up ahead.
The Blackhawks have a monster matchup in Montreal Saturday night, then jump back on a plane to the Windy City to take on the Edmonton Oilers Sunday evening. Playing in Montreal is always a challenge, thanks to the lively crowds at the Bell Centre. Chicago runs the risk of taking the feisty Oilers lightly in a drastic change of scenery Sunday.
Schedule spot
The Houston Rockets fuel up the engines for an extended East Coast road trip. Western Conference teams have rolled their Eastern counterparts this season, however, those wins haven’t exactly produces pointspread profits.
Houston is 10-2 SU versus teams from the East but just 6-5-1 ATS. Those earnings shrink on the road, going 2-2 SU and ATS in Eastern venues heading into this trip. The Rockets visit the Atlanta Hawks Friday, the Washington Wizards Saturday, and Boston Celtics Monday, before heading to New Orleans to take on Western Conference rival New Orleans. Houston is only 8-8 ATS on the road overall this season.
