ALLEN EASTMAN
4-Unit Play. Take #530 Delaware (-13) over UNC-Wilmington (Noon, Saturday, Feb. 1)
The Blue Hens just lost one of their top players to suspension when Jarvis Threatt was ruled
ineligible. But that won't slow this group down. Delaware rallied around one another to win by 17
at William & Mary. They will get another blowout here. Delaware has won nine straight and they
are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games. This is the top team in the CAA and they will prove it once
again with a home blowout.
3-Unit Play. Take #548 Dayton (-2.5) over George Washington (12:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 1)
I think that George Washington is going to get ?upset? today. They are the top team in the A-10
and could be a Top 25 team. But they are going to get beaten here. Dayton is just 1-5 in league
play. But this team is much better than that. And they are great at home. The host is 7-3 ATS in
the last 10 meetings in this series and Dayton has revenge for a tough OT loss last year in the A-
10 tournament. GW is 5-0 SU and ATS in its last five games. Dayton is 0-4 SU and ATS in its last
four. But the Flyers are favored for a reason. Lay the points and stay on the sharp side.
3-Unit Play. Take #577 Michigan State (-7) over Georgetown (3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 1)
This is a strange nonconference game in the middle of league play. I think that hurts the favorite
here. This game is in Madison Square Garden so no one has home court advantage. But I think
there will be a stronger showing for the Hoyas. Michigan State is coming off a big win over Iowa
earlier in the week. That game was their third overtime win in the last three weeks. I don't think
they will be as up for this game. The Hoyas have lost five straight games. They need a win like
this to turn their season around.
5-Unit Play. Take #642 Syracuse (-3) over Duke (6:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 1)
I like the home team in this game. Syracuse is going to have a big home court advantage and
they will take advantage with a big winner here. The Carrier Dome will have 36,000 people packed
into the gym and Duke has struggled on the road this year, losing at Notre Dame and at Clemson.
Syracuse is 20-0 and they have gone 8-1 ATS in their last nine games. This team is still
underrated! The Orange are strong defensively and will be able to slow down the Duke offense.
The Blue Devils won at Pittsburgh earlier this week and I don't think they will get back-to-back
road wins in two tough venues. Syracuse is 7-1 ATS at home and they have been waiting all year
for this game. They will come through with a winner here.
Game: Arkansas at L S U (5:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: L S U -5 (-109) at 5Dimes
There are not very many good teams that have struggled over the years on the road like this Arkansas team. This is a team that is 16-70 straight-up on the road in their last 86, and just 28-59-1 ATS over the same period. This year has been no exception as Arkansas is 0-3 on the road. Jordan Mickey controls the paint for LSU, as he has blocked 69 shots on the season and has had 5 or more blocks in eight games, and averages 13.1 points per game and 7.2 boards. Johnny O'Bryant went for 29 against Kentucky for the Tigers, and once again he should have his way in the paint against Arkansas. The Razorbacks are in one of their worst road situations, as they have been 6-35 ATS on the road to a line of less than 11 vs. a winning team off a win. Make the play on LSU.
100 dime release on San Diego State against Colorado State. The Aztecs are -11 1/2 to -12 at most books as of 6:20 my time on Saturday morning here in Vegas.
