RIVER CITY SHARPS

Really good pitching matchup tonight as the A’s will send lefty Scott Kazmir (9-2, 2.08) to the mound to face off with the veteran Bartolo Colon (7-5, 3.88) and the New York Mets. While Colon struggled early in the season, he has shown flashes of his former self lately, especially over his last six outings. Kazmir has won his last three starts and really been the most consistent arm for the A’s this season. The Mets are still struggling to hit consistently and this doesn’t seem to be a matchup tonight that will help them and their cause. We also kind of think Colon is due for a bounce start and the A’s formidable lineup will give him problems. The A’s are 8-1 in their last nine games off a loss and are a solid 13-2 in Kazmir’s last 15 starts as a favorite. We think the A’s get to Colon early here tonight and Kazmir is stingy against the offensively-challenged Mets. The Sharps say…
