dime bet – 308 Bowling Green -14.0 (-110) vs 307 Kent St.
Analysis:
Kent St. at Bowling Green (-14) 8:00 ET ESPN2
Bowling Green has owned this series at 4-1 ATS recently and 5-1 ATS at this series site. I was on the wrong side with each of these teams last week, when Bowling Green emerged from their doldrums with a 27-10 win at Akron, while Offensive Oaf, Kent St., scored 2 backdoor TDs in the last 20 minutes for a home cover at Toledo. But, the Flashes have regressed in all aspects under 2 nd year HC Haynes. They feature a 200/200 defense and an offense that averages just 15 PPG and 304 YPG. Against a Bowling Green defense that showed solid improvement last week vs. Akron, it is doubtful they can put up enough points to keep pace. Falcons have a 2 game lead in the underachieving MAC East and with a victory tonight can clinch the divisional crown. Hard to trust the 526 point defense as a double digit favorite! But, last week’s improvement may have been a late season buy sign on that unit.
MASSACHUSETTS (-3) over Ball State
8:00 p.m. ET
UMASS hosts it’s first mid-week game ever tonight and we expect QB Blake Frohnapfel and his fellow Minutemen to be pumped and jacked to show their prolific offense to the ESPNU audience. Frohnapfel ranks 5th nationally in passing yards with 2,483 and UMASS has averaged 39 points per game in 5 MAC games. The reason that are 2-7 straight up this year is because their defense can’t stop anybody. But in front of the home crowd and making it’s first appearance on national television in several years we expect the Minutemen to score early and often and keep their perfect 5-0 ATS MAC record intact. Cardinals get clipped take UMASS!
