dime bet – 706 UTA 2.5 (-110) vs 705 DEN
Analysis:
1* Take Utah (#706)
Pure spot play here. I like the Jazz at home with a legitimate shot to end their losing streak after getting blown out by the Clips over the weekend. Utah beat ‘em by 15 on this floor the last time they met in Salt Lake City. And we’re catching Denver ‘fat and happy’ off a big revenge blowout against Phoenix on Friday Night; their sixth win in the last seven games. Denver has been taking advantage of good scheduling spots; facing the right teams at the right times. Tonight, the spot works against them.
This Gordon Hayward quote tells us that you may want to consider a Jazz/Under parlay for at least a portion of your wager. “We’re going to have to find a way to slow them down. We have to rebound the ball, that’s going to be important. But we’re in good spirits, we know what we’re going to have to do if we want to be successful tonight.” Take the Jazz.
NBA BASKETBALL
San Antonio has covered the spread in 27 of the last 41 non-conference games and they have covered the spread in 59 of the last 96 games after scoring 105 points or more in their last game.

Dime bet Nebraska -2.0
Analysis: We’re going to make money with Tim Miles’ Cornhuskers this year, starting right here in Tallahassee tonight. Now that Nebraska has gone 0-3 ATS to open the season (losing in overtime in their road opener, then failing to win by enough of a margin in a pair of double digit home victories), the markets have cooled on the Huskers enough to get involved here.
Nebraska has many of the things I look for in a strong point spread team. This is an outlier season for the program, and when teams like Nebraska suddenly become really good, the markets often lag behind current realities. Tim Miles has two strong scorers to rely on in Terran Petteway and Shavon Sheilds. Walter Pitchford scored 19 last time out – they have options when one of their top two struggle to get going offensively. They play defense. They rebound. They don’t turn the ball over excessively, key against the Seminoles aggressive defense. And they have the moxie to win a tight road game, learning from their experience at Rhode Island last month. Take Nebraska.
