    Sunday's Selection ...

My 100 Dime selection is on Cardinals over the Seahawks. The current line on this game is +3 in Vegas and Offshore. This line could range from +2 1/2 to +3 1/2 throughout the day. I advise buying the 1/2 up to +3, 3 1/2 or 4. Be sure to shop around for the best line available.

      SUNDAY NFL SELECTIONS

      2-Unit Play. Take #257 Chicago (+7) over St. Louis (1 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 14)
I've been betting against the Rams all season because I think this team is trash. They have won a couple home games that they had serious situational advantages in. And they have one here, with the Bears coming off a surprising MNF win over San Diego. But this is too many points to lay out considering that the Rams have one of the worst offenses in the league. The Bears have played a brutal schedule. And when you consider that they've dealt with a ton of injuries on top of that I see a team that is better than people realize. The Rams have not been good as a large favorite and even though the public is buying into them I am not. I think the Bears, who are showing that good coaching can close the talent gap, have a great chance to win this game outright so I will take the points in this one.

      2-Unit Play. Take #262 Philadelphia (-6) over Miami (1 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 14)
I think that Dan Campbell has been exposed. The Dolphins won his first two games as a head coach big, but that's because they were playing against the Texans and Titans, two of the worst teams in the league. Since then they have been blown out by the Patriots and Bills and I think they are going to strugle in a non-divisional game here against an Eagles team that is starting to find a groove. Philadelphia is off a big win at Dallas last week. Now they are home as a significant favorite and I think that the Eagles are just scratching the surface of their potential. Either the Fins are going to pull the outright upset (highly unlikely) or the Eagles are going to win this one in a blowout (much more likely) so we'll lay the points and look for Philly to put it together.

      4-Unit Play. Take #263 Cleveland (+5) over Pittsburgh (1 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 14)
I don't care who starts for the Browns: I think that Cleveland wins this game outright. The Steelers were a team I was looking to bet against this season because I thought they overachieved last year. They also overachieved the first two months of this season, winning several games in which they were outplayed (at San Diego, vs. Arizona). The Steelers are 0-3 ATS in their last three games and I definitely think that Landy Jones won't be good enough to lead this group. The number 5.0 is an underdog indicator number in the NFL and I think the Browns are better than their record suggests. They have played, and won, a lot of close game and I think that this divisional rivalry game will come down to a field goal either way. No one is betting on the Browns this weekend (82% of the action is coming in on the Steelers) but I think that this is the upset that no one sees coming. Take the points, but look for an outright upset here.

      2-Unit Play. Take #274 Seattle (-3) over Arizona (8:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 14)
No one is taking the Seahawks in this game. Everyone that I've seen this week is all over the Cardinals. Arizona has been better, statistically, than the Seahawks. But this game means much more to the home team. And you are kidding me if you think that Seattle is the type of place that opponents can just walk into and get a win. We are laying minimal points with one of the best home teams of the past decade. And considering that Arizona has lost four of their past five trips to Seattle I think that the Seahawks offer a lot of value in this one. I'll go with the more desperate team and the fact that this one is a play against the public is just the icing on the cake.

      This Week's Totals
7-Unit Play. Take 'Over' 41.0 Cleveland at Pittsburgh (1 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 14)
5-Unit Play. Take 'Over' 48.0 Detroit at Green Bay (1 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 14)
2-Unit Play. Take 'Under' 49.0 Miami at Philadelphia (1 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 14)
2-Unit Play. Take 'Under' 44.0 Carolina at Tennessee (1 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 14)
4-Unit Play. Take 'Over' 42.0 Chicago at St. Louis (1 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 14)

The Pack has most of the edges in this game including being the 2nd best team in the league in avoiding turnovers while facing the team with the worst ranking, turning the ball over 2.5 times per game.

Green Bay has been made to look mortal, if not pathetic, by once beaten Denver and undefeated Carolina during the last two weeks.
The Pack are a frustrated bunch right now ready to bust loose.

Welcome the 1-7 Lions, who Green Bay has defeated a staggering 24 straight times in Wisconsin.

Detroit is coming off a turbulent bye week where ownership fired its team president and general manager. Hapless – and likely lame duck – Jim Caldwell remains to coach a dead Detroit team. Caldwell lacks the personality to
            arouse his lifeless squad.
The Lions not only have the worst spread record in the NFL at 1-7, but are 0-21 SU as an underdog in November and 0-9 ATS the past nine times when playing on grass.

Instead of facing the dominant defenses of the Broncos and Panthers, the Packers step way down in class as the Lions ranked last in points allowed per game at 30.6 through this past Sunday.

Matthew Stafford, not mobile to begin with, has been getting terrible pass protection. He hasn’t had a ground game either to fall back on as Detroit has the worst rushing attack in the league averaging fewer than 70 yards per game on the ground.

This is a kill spot for the Packers.

What do you do if you are a ground-and-pound team with a bottom-five quarterback and can’t run the ball?
            Suffer that’s what.
Kirk Cousins can’t keep pace with a sizzling Drew Brees, who has thrown 16 touchdown passes during his last six games while averaging 359 yards passing a game during this span.

Opposing QBs have completed 70 percent of their throws vs the Redskins during the last four games with a 6-to-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio.

Washington also is permitting an average of 5.2 yards rushing per attempt during its last four games.

The question remains can the Redskins keep up?

Not without a decent ground game.
They have been out-rushed, 748-172, during its last four games. During this time frame, the Redskins haven’t been able to run for more than 52 yards in a game.

Alfred Morris sure looks washed up. Rookie Matt Jones has tailed off badly. Cousins doesn’t have the ability to make it up through the air. He’s turned the ball over 10 times during his last eight games.

Skins have lost 10 games by 17 or more points during the last two and one-half seasons. Historically November is a brutal month for Washington.
They have dropped 20 of their last 27 games during the month, including going 0-4 last November.

The Saints own victories against far superior QBs, having posted wins against Andrew Luck, Matt Ryan and Eli Manning.
They had beaten the Colts, Falcons and Giants in their previous games before falling flat at home against Tennessee this past Sunday.

Sean Payton will have the Saints in bounce back mode for this matchup.

The real Seahawks – the ones who reached the Super Bowl the previous two seasons – have yet to step up.

The Cardinals are the better team.

Yet the Seahawks’ home mystique and near must-win spot are so powerful they are favored.

It’s a miscalculated Leap of faith. The Seahawks have done nothing to earn this right. Their O line has underperformed all season. Their passing attack still hasn’t advanced despite the addition of Jimmy Graham and their defense has slipped as free agency and excellent coaches leaving take an inevitable toll.

At 4-4 the Seahawks are who they are – mediocre.

Their victories were against the Jimmy Clausen-led Bears, nipping the Matt Cassel-led Cowboys by one point, defeating hapless San Francisco on a short week and lucking out on an incorrect official’s call to edge the 1-7 Lions at home.
Their victories against the Cowboys and Lions were by a combined four points.

Arizona is 6-2, including 3-1 on the road.
They have covered in 12 of their last 17 road matchups.
They have a top-five caliber D, a healthy and motivated Carson Palmer playing as well as ever and a still highly effective Larry Fitzgerald heading a deep wide receiving group. Chris Johnson is back, too, as a running force.

Arizona is 7-1 ATS with rest versus division opponents.

Seattle is 1-10 ATS in games with rest versus opponents off a SU & ATS win.

Arizona head coach Bruce Arians is 15-1 ATS in his NFL career as a dog of less than 7 points.

I'll gladly take the 3 but we have plenty of time to wait for the hook

It’s certainly easy to build a case for the home team. Cincinnati is 8-0 while outscoring its opponents by a combined 87 points.

            They're 7-0-1 ATS this season.

They are 16-4-2 ATS during their last 22 home games.

Andy Dalton has taken advantage of his team’s excellent health and multiple weapons to post elite passing numbers.

Cincy's D is giving up less than 18 points a game.

But just who have the Bengals beaten?

The answer is a no team above .500.

            Texans are below .500

              River City Sharps

This is a really bad spot for the visiting Detroit Lions Sunday afternoon as they travel to face an angry Green Bay Packers squad. The Pack has been humbled with back-to-back losses to the Broncos and Panthers, while this has been a season to forget for the Lions. Not only are they 1-7 SU and ATS this season, but ownership has fired everyone in their path over the past several weeks and this feels like a franchise on the brink of total collapse. To make matters worse, they go to Green Bay, where they haven’t won since 1991. The favorite is a perfect 6-0 ATS in the last six meetings between these two clubs and the home team is a perfect 5-0 against the number over the last five. We believe this number will go significantly on Sunday morning and are going to lock in the 10.5 right now…That said, we think the Packers win this game by 20. The Sharps say…

              3 Units – Green Bay Packers (-10.5)

                      MILE HIGH SPORTS PICKS

New England Patriots @ New York Giants
The Giants are a good team. In fact, many times this year they have been undervalued and we have done well betting on them. Also, the Giants as everyone knows have played the Patriots tough in the recent past as indicated by Eli Manning’s two super bowl rings. However, that won’t be enough to keep this game close on Sunday… The Patriots come into this game averaging a league best 34.5 pts per game. They also own a very stellar defense that has given the Patriots offense the ball nearly 61% of the time in their eight games so far. Tom Brady is off to possibly the best start for any quarterback in NFL history. He owns a 10-1 TD to INT ratio and is on pace to break Peyton Manning’s single season TD record. The biggest issue I see is that the Giant’s don’t have the defensive personnel to handle the trio of Edelman, Gronkowski, Amendola and the rest of the Patriots talented receiving corps. Look for Tom Brady to shred this defense and for the Pats to pull away by late in the 3rd quarter.
                      100 Unit – New England Patriots -7

Kansas City Chiefs @ Denver Broncos
Peyton Manning is aging. However, his mind is as good as ever and if there is one thing Peyton Manning knows how to do it is dominate Andy Reid. You can see it in Reid’s eyes on the sideline that he’s terrified when Manning’s offense gets the ball. Even when the Chiefs were playing great football the past two seasons they couldn’t overcome Denver. They blew a 24 pt lead in a division game against the Broncos that hurt them when playoff time rolled around. Also, look for Vernon Davis to have more of an impact this week after having another week to acclimate to the offense. Finally, look for Denver’s defense to be all over Alex Smith tomorrow. Denver’s D is easily the best in the NFL currently and i’ll take those odds at home with the better defense and better QB.
                      100 Unit – Denver Broncos -4.5

                      Carolina Panthers @ Tennessee Titans
The Carolina Panthers may be the most complete team in the NFL. They have a strong running back in Jonathan Stewart and a young QB showing major signs of improvement in Cam Newton. Carolina should be at least a TD favorite in this game. However, being a small market team, the Panthers will never get the respect they deserve. They have the best linebacker tandem in the NFL with Luke Kuechley and Thomas Davis and statistically a top 5 defense which I believe is more along the lines of a top 2 defense. Look for Carolina to dominate this game from the trenches and pull out a comfortable win.
                      100 Unit – Carolina Panthers -4
