2-Unit Play. Take #723 Oklahoma (-4) over Memphis (5 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 17)
On the surface this looks a little like the Virginia-George Washington game all over again: we have an overrated Top 10 team going up against a capable, solid program. But it’s not. Memphis is still very much a work in progress and there is not nearly the cohesion on this team that there is with the Sooners. These guys with OU have been playing together for three years. They have a very talented backcourt and Memphis doesn’t have enough in the frontcourt to realy hammer the Sooners where they are vulnerable. It will be a wild atmosphere in Memphis and this is going to be a back-and-forth game. But Oklahoma has too much firepower and Lon Kruger is simply a much better bench coach than Josh Pastner. This number is fair, but I think OU beats it.


3-Unit Play. Take #725 DePaul (+5.5) over Penn State (5 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 17)
The wrong team is favored here. DePaul is going to win this game. Penn State is awful. They are a terrible, terrible team and they shouldn’t be favored over anyone. In fact, this is the play I’m going to wish I had rated a hell of a lot higher by the end of the day. The problem is that DePaul has come up small in so many instances in the past that it is tough to trust this group. However, I think that they have a lot more confidence now under Dave Leito. And with three double-digit scorers, on the inside and out, they have a lot more options than Penn State does. DePaul did not shoot the ball well in their opener. But they played a good, tough Western Michigan team. Penn State got to dick around with VMI, a fringe D-I program, and the Nittany Lions didn’t even beat the number. Again, if you’re going to bump up one play today over the others: this is it. And I like the Blue Demons to get the upset and to top 70 points.


1-Unit Play. Take #730 Notre Dame (-14) over UW-Milwaukee (7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 17)

We rode Milwaukee to a couple wins over the weekend but now we are going to go the other way. Milwaukee had to play three games in three nights out on the West Coast and then fly back to the Heartland. Now they are going into one of the toughest venues in the country to take on a really good Notre Dame team. The irish will push the tempo here and I just think that the Panthers are going to run out of gas.


1-Unit Play. Take #738 Kentucky (-1.5) over Duke (7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 17)


2-Unit Play. Take #745 Nebraska (+18) over Villanova (8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 17)

I’m going to take a shot going against the Wildcats here. That’s been a dangerous proposition over the past two years, as Villanova has been a consistent ATS cash cow. But Nebraska isn’t some middling mid-major team or overmatched small school program. Don’t get me wrong: the Huskers stink. They are a bottom-tier Big Ten team. But they still have Big Ten talent. Shavon Shields is one of the best players in that league. Benny Parker and Tai Webster have NCAA Tournament experience. Nebraska has a pair of Top 100 freshmen. So they aren’t very good, but they aren’t pathetic to where I think they are going to walk off the bus and get run by 25. I also don’t think that the Wildcats are as strong this year as they have been the past two seasons. They lost a lot of leadership and are still figuring some things out. There is absolutely zero doubt that they are going to win this game. But I don’t know if they are going to show that third gear and get this one into the 20-point blowout range.


3-Unit Play. Take #748 Maryland (-8) over Georgetown (9 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 17)


1-Unit Play. FIRST HALF: #748 Maryland (-4) over Georgetown (9 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 17)

I think that Maryland is legit. They are one of the three best teams in the country today and they are a true national title contender. Georgetown is just not really that good. At all. And they have the potential to be really bad this year, actually. D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera is an outstanding point guard. But he’s working with a bunch of freshmen and sophomores and there simply isn’t any experienced help on this roster. Maryland has NBA-caliber talent on its roster and a lot of different weapons. They also lost by about 30 the last time that these two met and I think that they will want a little revenge. This is a regional rivalry game and Maryland will not call off the dogs. I just don’t think that Georgetown has the weapons to run if this becomes a higher scoring game. And if they couldn’t hold off Radford I just don’t know how they are going to go into College Station and threaten a fully formed Terps team.


3-Unit Play. Take #758 LaSalle (-3.5) over Rider (7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 17)

Metro teams have not gotten off to a good start this year. These guys are getting crushed left and right and I think that could be the case here. Rider is not a bad team at all. And I don’t fault them for losing to Princeton on Sunday in a game that we cashed in on. But LaSalle is a step up in class and I’m not sure that the Broncs are up for it. LaSalle has an excellent scorer in Jordan Price and they have quality guards all over the perimeter. The home court is another advantage and I think that the Explorers are going to find a way to win and cover in this one.

The Atlanta Hawks will look to break their small two game losing streak when they travel to take on the Nets at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Tuesday night. Despite back to back losses to the Celtics and Jazz, the Hawks have been pretty good in the spot they are in here tonight. They have posted a 6-2-1 ATS record in their last nine road games and they have covered four of their last five games where they faced a team from the Atlantic Division. The Nets, on the other hand, have really struggled in the situation we find them in here tonight as they have gone just 3-7 ATS in their last ten games following a straight up loss and they have failed to cover the number in four straight home games.
