3 Unit Play Take #7 Calgary +105 over New Jersey (7:05pm est):

We have the better of these two teams right now with Calgary in this one. The Flames have stated this is a huge road trip and they dropped the opening game of it in a tough shootout loss after leading for most of that game. Despite a 3-3 record Calgary's last six games are very impressive when you take a 2nd glance at them. The Flames three wins come by a combined 13-1 scores and all in games they were listed as the underdog. The three losses were all one goal defeats.

The Devils come in having been outshot by 7 shots per game in their last 10 games overall. They have worse numbers than Calgary in the advanced stats and overall there's no way this team should be a favorite in this spot over a team better than them and playing well. We have the better team in this one and also the more motivated one as well and that's a nice combination to have with the underdog at plus juice.

Take Calgary. Solid run of late in CBB betting action with 5 winning days the last 7 overall. Join in the winning as I'm starting to heat up and like the way things look the rest of the year in this sport. The sports books don't have a chance in the CBB betting market against a hard working handicapper who looks over the whole board of plays like I do.

3-Unit Play. Take #13 Chicago (-115) over Nashville (8:05) p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 19)

Chicago can set a new franchise record with a 12th consecutive victory by winning in Nashville for the first time in four visits when it begins a three-game trip against the Predators on Tuesday.. Almost every time this club has been faced with adversity this season they have answered and like them to produce under these circumstances. They've outscored their opponents by 22 goals during an 11-game run that has matched the club record set from 2013 and have had little issues on the road as of late. The Blackhawks are 5-0 in their last 5 road games and playing at a championship level on both ends of the ice. Crawford is riding a career high 8 game win streak and everyone else seems to be falling in linen defensively. I understand that the home team in this match-up typically wins in these scenarios but I don't think it will matter tonight. Blackhawks win for their 12th straight tonight in Nashville.

3-Unit Play. Take #7 Calgary (+120) over New Jersey (7:05) p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 19)

We can talk about New Jersey's defense and how it is 5th in the league in goals against at 2.3 but I don't think this matters tonight. I really don't like how the Devils have been playing hockey and think they can only survive so long with this style of play. New Jersey is now ranked 29th in offense only scoring 2.2 goals per game and haven't seen much improvement over the last couple weeks either. Calgary is on an upward swing where they have been scoring a lot of goals and while they still have some defensive issues to address this young club is starting to fall in line. The Flames (20-20-3) own an eight-game point streak against New Jersey dating to March 2010, and the latest chapter came nov. 17th when they handed Schneider his third straight loss in this series with a 3-2 victory in Calgary. The Flames followed a season high in a 6-0 win over Florida in Wednesday then with 2-1 SO loss at Edmonton and think they will bounce back tonight. The Flames are 7-1 against the Easter Conference and believe this trend will continue tonight.
