                                2-Unit Play. Take #711 Drake (+11) over Indiana State (7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2)
This one is an easy take for me. Drake is awful. They are 6-16 on the season and haven't beaten a team ranked in the Top 300 since Thanksgiving (2-13 overall). Drake lost by 10 to Indiana State at home on Jan. 6 and it should be even worse on the road, right? I don't think so. Drake is 1-9 ATS in its last 10 games. They are officially in the category of ?so bad that the only way to bet them is to bet on them?. Their last four losses have come by 5, 9, 5 and 12 points. And, really, if you kick out their blowout losses to the top three teams in the Missouri Valley - at Wichita State, at Evansville and at Northern Iowa - then they have just one other loss by more than 12 points all season, and that was on Nov. 24. Indiana State is not a team that I trust. Yes, they have some huge home wins. But I just don't trust them. I don't think that they are going to be up for this game at all against a feeble opponent and I can't see them running Drake out of the gym. I think Drake hangs around and losses this one by between 6-9 points.

                                1-Unit Play. Take #717 Akron (+1.5) over Ohio (7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2)
I have been persistent with the Zips, riding them through their four-game ATS slide and then cashing in on them in their past two games. This is the best team in the MAC. And they are finally starting to play like it. They've won four straight and I think that they are good enough to go into Ohio, a really tough place to win, and get a victory. But Akron is clearly the better team here and I think they can pick up another 'W' here. Akron is 7-2 SU and ATS in the last nine meetings and have dominated this series, winning in Ohio in two of the last three years.

6-Unit Play. Take #720 Central Michigan (-5) over Kent State (7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2)
Besides dabbling with Akron I have really given the MAC a wide berth. There is just too much parity in this league and the difference between, say, the No. 2 team and the No. 10 team in the league is absurdly close. But this is a situation where I think the favorite is going to come to play and lay the wood in a big way. Kent State is 15-6 overall and 6-2 in league play, tied for first in the East. But I think they've been playing above themselves. They've played the No. 11 rated schedule in the MAC, meaning they've beaten up on the bad teams in the league. In fact, Kent State's home win over Ohio (the same team that just beat them by 11 last Friday) is the team's only win over a Top 150 team all season long. They don't shoot the ball well at all. They aren't that great defensively. They really have just one stud guy, Jimmy Hall, and they aren't nearly as good as the team they fielded last year. Central Michigan has won three straight and they are really starting to get it going. They've won their last three home games by 11, 23 and 12 points, with one of those double-digit wins coming against Akron. If they can roll Akron at home they can run over Kent State. Central Michigan is a really sharp offensive team and their numbers defensively aren't that far off from what Kent State is packing. The favorite is 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in this series and 7-3 ATS in the last 10. Central Michigan has revenge for a 10-point loss at Kent State last year and I think they can return the favor. This Central Michigan team is basically all the same dudes that went 23-9 last year while dominating at home. Last year their average home MAC win was by 12 points per game, with five of eight coming by eight points or more. The public is all over Kent State but I think Central Michigan has the goods here.

                                1-Unit Play. Take #726 Tennessee (+8) over Kentucky (7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2)
It is a contrast in styles in this one. Kentucky has a bunch of monsters in the post. Tennessee plays four guards and is one of the smallest teams in the country. The Vols are coming off an ugly loss to a bad TCU team. But I actually think they are going to be ready to go tonight in what is their biggest game of the season. The Vols have wins over Texas A&M and South Carolina at home and they nearly knocked off Texas A&M in Knoxville. Most of their losses this year have been by eight points or less and something tells me that they will be a very live dog tonight. I like the 'over' in this game as well as I anticipate a pretty hectic pace.

                                1-Unit Play. Take #733 Virginia Tech (+9.5) over Syracuse (8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2)
Buzz Williams is an old nemesis of the Orange. His teams always play Syracuse tough dating back to his time at Marquette. He has a similarly aggressive, athletic, attack-oriented Hokies team that's he's bringing to the Dome here tonight. Virginia Tech has been a big-time overachiever this year even at just 12-10. They've lost four straight and are coming off one of their worst games of the year, losing by 19 at Pittsburgh. I think they can bounce back here. They have wins over Virginia, Wake and Georgia Tech and close losses against Notre Dame (by 2), North Carolina (by 5) and Louisville (by 8). So they have played one of the league's toughest schedules and they have been feisty while doing it. Last year the Hokies lost both games to Syracuse by just two points. I think that they can hang around in this one. The Orange have been playing great basketball. They've won five of their last six games and have been a different team since getting Jim Boeheim back. Saturday they played a really grueling game in a win over Georgia Tech. I don't know that they will have a letdown necessarily but I do think they could be a little drained. The Orange aren't great in the favorite role and they are just 11-24 ATS after a win. I think this line is a little thick and I don't know that they are going to win this one via blowout.

                                1-Unit Play. Take #736 Wake Forest (+1.5) over Clemson (8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2)
Wake Forest just got throttled at Notre Dame on Sunday for their sixth straight loss. The Demon Deacons have played the toughest schedule in the ACC to this point. It has not gone well. However, even though their confidence is completely shot I do think that they are still a bit better than their sub-.500 record suggests. This team has wins over Indiana, UCLA, Arkansas and LSU. You can't be terrible and beat all of those teams. Wake really just needs something good to happen and I think they are long, long overdue for a win. It is still tough to tell what to expect from Clemson. They have gone 6-2 in their last eight games and have a slew of upsets on their resume. But were those flukes? Clemson's ACC resume is nice. But they played one of the worst nonconference schedules in the country. They have losses at UMass and Minnesota, both of whom are awful. They lost by 11 at Florida State over the weekend and this is their second of three straight road games. This is going to be a close game but I just think that the Deacons are so overdue for a win that they'll find a way to snap their losing streak.

                                2-Unit Play. Take #738 New Mexico (-2.5) over UNLV (8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2)
It's a revenge game down in The Pit. New Mexico got slammed by 12 in Las Vegas on Jan. 12 and now they get the return game. The Lobos are coming off a big win at Boise State on Saturday and I think that momentum could carry over. The Lobos have some really nice blowout wins at home this year. Their average margin of victory in Albuquerque this year is 19.7 points per game. The Rebels are playing much better. They are 4-2 in their last six games. But they got smoked by San Diego State over the weekend at home and I think that one could linger. They have losses at Nevada, Wyoming and Colorado State and are just 2-5 on the road this year, with the wins coming against lightweights UC-Riverside and Utah State.

                                2-Unit Play. Take #744 UL-Lafayette (-9.5) over UL-Monroe (8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2)
Let's keep going to the well here. We've been riding Lafayette hard the last couple weeks and they have not disappointed. Not only are these guys winning, but they are absolutely wrecking people. They just beat a very good UT-Arlington team - probably the second or third best team in the conference - by 15 over the weekend. The Ragin' Cajuns have won six straight by 9, 33, 10, 23, 26 and 15 points. That's pretty nasty. UL-Monroe has won four straight and they are starting to get themselves going. But all four of those games were at home. They have been much worse on the road, including losing at Georgia Southern by 15 and at Georgia State by 14. They also have double-digit road losses at Kent State, Houston and Minnesota, so they can get run here. This is also a revenge game for UL-Lafayette. They lost by 11 on the road in the first meeting this year and they have actually lost three straight in this series after getting swept last year. That's some pent-up revenge and I think the Cajuns can win this one big.

                                2-Unit Play. Take #746 Northern Illinois (-3) over Buffalo (8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2)
I'm not a fan of this Buffalo team. They are really solid defensively but so is Northern Illinois. And after two straight road losses I think that NIU is going to be ready to go tonight. This team has nice home wins over Central Michigan, Toledo and Eastern Michigan. In fact, they are unbeaten at home this year whereas Buffalo is just 3-7 SU away from home this season. And if you look at their numbers, they are ugly, as the Bulls are shooting barely 39 percent on the road and below 30 percent from deep. Their defensive numbers are also pretty ugly compared to their norms. Buffalo is 3-2 in MAC play and they've followed a relatively predictable pattern in their last few two-game road trips: win the first game, lose the second. They lost by double-digits at Eastern Michigan and at Western Michigan and I think it will be more of the same here. The Huskies are 17-6 ATS in their last 23 home games and they haven't beaten Buffalo in over a decade. That's a whole helluva lot of revenge. This is only the second time Buffalo has played in DeKalb in six years and it is a completely unfamiliar environment.

                                1-Unit Play. Take #751 Duke (-3.5) over Georgia Tech (9 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2)
Duke is outside the Top 25 for the first time in what feels like forever. Their backs are against the wall and they desperately need a win in this game. I have to think that they can get it against a Georgia Tech team that just hasn't been able to close the deal over the last few years. Tech is tough. They're a good little team. But this line is short (it should've been 6.0) and we've seen the Yellowjackets choke away games like this throughout Brian Gregory's tenure.

                                2-Unit Play. Take #758 Michigan (-2) over Indiana (9 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2)
We have an unranked team favored over a ranked team here and that is a clear indicator for me. I know Indiana has been on a great roll over the past two months. But if you really dig in there, who have the Hoosiers beaten? No one! They split with Wisconsin, who is mediocre at best. And the only tournament caliber team they've beaten is Ohio State, and the Buckeyes are not any good either! Michigan is just 1-4 ATS in its last five games and have been a bit overvalued. But they are going to come to play here against a ranked opponent. The Wolverines beat Top 10 Maryland at home and the host team has won nine of the last 10 meetings in this series. Michigan struggles with teams that are big and powerful in the post. In fact, Michigan's only three losses since Thanksgiving have come against SMU, Purdue and Iowa, all enormous teams. Yes, Indiana has Thomas Bryant. But the Hoosiers are soft. And I think Michigan is just going to do its thing on its home court.
