2-Unit Play. Take #522 Florida International (+5) over UAB (7 p.m., Thursday, March 3)
This line opened at 2.5 for a reason. Florida International plays good teams tough, as they are 4-0 ATS in their last four games versus teams with a winning percentage of .600 or higher and they are 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight games versus a team with a winning S.U. record. UAB comes into this game after already playing two games, and this will be their third in a seven day stretch. UAB's previous two games were battles as they beat Western Kentucky and Marshall by four points each. Those were both home games where they were favored by 7.5 and 9 points respectively. UAB is tired and they will let down a bit tonight. Florida International has a losing record on the season and yet this line opened at less than a three point shot. That says it all right there. Take the home dog as they want nothing more than to put a dent into UAB's post season chances.
2-Unit Play. Take #544 Houston (+2) over Cincinnati (9 p.m., Thursday, March 3)
I love Houston in this spot. Cincy has dominated this series, but this is a Houston team better than they have been in past seasons. Houston really wants this game while Cincinnati is looking ahead to their home finale, a huge matchup with SMU. This is Houston's last regular season game, and the home fans will be loud and rowdy behind their Cougars. The last five times these two teams have met Cincy was favored by at least three possessions, while this game actually opened with Houston as a favorite. Take the points here as the Cougars win this game on their home floor.
2-Unit Play. Take #551 Stanford (+3) over Arizona State (11 p.m., Thursday, March 3)
Arizona St. is an absolute mess. I want to take them at home as we all know that their fans are an absolute circus, but they just aren't good enough to beat Stanford in this spot. The Cardinal come in to this game on a high after victories over USC and UCLA, both by solid margins. If you go back even further, Stanford is actually 4-1 S.U. in their last five games with a win over Oregon as well. Stanford won the first game between these two but that was when Arizona State wasn't falling apart at the seems, so it will be even easier for them tonight. Arizona State guard Kodi Justice pretty much summed up where ASU is at the current time when he said " we are going to go into these last two games and play as hard as we can, and then go into the tournament, and whatever happens, happens." Not much motivation in that. Take the Cardinal here.
