The Raptors have been rolling at home in the last 15 games posting a 14-1 record. Most of this is due to their 107 points per game in those contests but defensively they have also been really focused which is giving them a chance to win even if they do not shoot lights out. Toronto looks to be a serious threat to the Cavs in the East but will need to show it this evening against a suddenly high scoring Heat squad. Miami has been scoring at will in their last six games averaging 113 points per game and shooting 51 % from the field and nearly 48% from three during this stretch. Look for both teams to have a lot of energy early but Miami played last night and going into the lions den that is Air Canada is never easy so take the Raptors to cover in this one 115-100.

We missed going against the Rockets last night. But I'll keep playing against them. I see that Houston is on an upswing. But they have still be so erratic that we can't trust them just yet.

I like the 'over' in this game as well. Memphis' skeleton team played a tough OT game last night against a bad New Orleans team. I think they will be tired and won't be able to compete with a solid Atlanta squad.


2-Unit Play. Take #710 Milwaukee (-5.5) over New Orleans (7:30 p.m., Saturday, March 12)


Tough road trip for the Pelicans, who are expected to play in Memphis last night and then head up to Milwaukee tonight. There's no way that these guys care about this game. The Bucks can be tough at home and they have a clear revenge motivation here after getting rocked by New Orleans down in the Bayou in the last meeting.

Never easy for teams in the NHL to get up for these afternoon games but if one team can it's the Detroit Red Wings. The Wings have one of the best home crowds in the NHL and they know the importance of this game here as their in a fight for the playoffs. That home ice has been huge in this series as the Red Wings have went 12-1-1 their last 14 home games against the Rangers. Detroit had lost 3 straight games going into their last contest but finally looked to wake up after falling behind 2-0 early.


Solid value here at this price for the team at home and who needs this game badly. Take Detroit.

The Sharks are now 12-15-3 with 27 points which is the league's lowest total at home. Their 3-0 loss to the Devils the other night started off a 3 game homestead and now must face the top team in the league. The Caps are 6-4 in their last ten games but have still been playing at a very high level. The only teams they have lost to are LA (A), NY, Chicago (A) and Montreal. The Washington coaching staff has addressed the ?slow start? issue and believe we will see a change in this tonight. The last time these two team played each other San Jose stomped the Caps 5-0 but that was Holtby's worst game and without Ovechkin. The Capitals tend to bounce back and are 5-1 in their last 6 against the Pacific. Look for the Caps to start fast and win another road game tonight.

This tournament has gone right as expected as the Top 4 from the regular season made the semi-finals and the Top 2 advanced to the Finals. Both games went to OT yesterday so there is no advantage there. Where there is an advantage is Utah is the now team as they have won 9 in a row and they beat a Cal team yesterday that was playing great Basketball at the end of the season in the PAC 12. In fact they might of been playing the best as they finally got healthy and was rolling late in season. I look at Oregon and even though Utah finished second in Conference in Oregon’s mind to win the PAC 12 Championship Arizona was the team to beat. Mentally I don’t think Utah gets the respect that Arizona does. With game being played in Vegas there will be a large number of Utah fans as they always travel well to Vegas. I also look at yesterday’s Oregon game and if you read the stats you would of thought they won easily. Oregon shot 48% from the field and an insane 52% from 3 point range while Arizona only shot 39% from the field and yet this game went to OT. That tells me this Oregon team was lucky to advance and if it wasn’t an insane shooting night they would be out. Can they have a shooting night like that again? I say no as Utah has held 6 of it’s last 8 opponents to 42% or less from the field. Utah is 7-1 ATS their last 8 Games with the lone point spread loss was a win and no cover against Colorado the game immediately following their big win over Arizona. Wrong team is favored in my opinion as I have Utah winning by 6-8 points here.

The world will want Temple here figuring Connecticut is spent having to have played 4 OT’s yesterday. The thing is Connecticut only played one game so far it’s not like it’s their 3rd game in 3 days or 4 games in 4 days. These are 20 year old kids that bounce back quickly. Going 4 OT’s also has to have this team beaming with confidence as they never quit yesterday. Connecticut plays with Double revenge as they lost both regular season meetings yet they are the favorite here even though Vegas knew the public money would be on Temple given the 4 OT’s yesterday. My numbers have Connecticut winning by 6 or more.

Analysis: Weber State beat them in their only meeting and did it without second leading scorer Joel Bolomboy who had 17 points and 19 rebounds yesterday in wild win in OT over North Dakota. Senglin had 31 to lead the way. They need to neutralize Breunig for the Grizz and hold him to 15 or less and they'll win. Coach Ra ”ndy Rahe one of best coaches very few in the country know about.
