The Oklahoma Sooners lost to Ohio State on September 17. Since then? Oklahoma has racked up eight straight wins and is undefeated in conference play. Now, they’re fighting for a conference championship and an outside chance at the College Football Playoff. They are playing vintage Sooner football and are one of the hottest teams in the nation. Led by dual-threat quarterback Baker Mayfield, the Sooners are putting up an average of over 45 points per game. Big performances from QB Baker Mayfield and WR Dede Westbrook could ensure both players a spot at next week's Heisman Trophy ceremony in New York. Mayfield leads the FBS in passing efficiency and has completed a career-high 71.4 percent of his passes this season while Westbrook has amassed 1,200 yards receiving and 15 touchdowns over the last eight games. And...that's not even their strength offensively. RBs Joe Mixon and Samaje Perine have combined for 1,819 yards on the ground this season despite Perine missing three games in the middle of Big 12 play. Expect Mixon and Perine to both go over 100 yards on the ground for the second game in a row with multiple scores each. It's supposed to be cold and raining which will impact this game with the Sooners double duel threat. OSU's Coordinator Glenn Spencer’s unit allowed more than five yards per rushing attempt against Pittsburgh, Texas, Kansas, West Virginia and Kansas State already this season. The Sooners bruising backfield duo of Samaje Perine and Joe Mixon will certainly be Oklahoma State’s stiffest test yet of which with the weather they will fail.

Pinnacle--Virginia Tech + NCAA Championship Game of Year
The Clemson team that will show up today is the one that lost to Pittsburgh 43-42 and would have lost to North Carolina State had the Wolfpack not missed a chip-shot field goal as time ran out in regulation? A team only gets to dodge a disaster so many times until it catches up with you. Meanwhile, the Hokies beat defending champion North Carolina, Miami, and Pittsburgh to earn their sixth appearance in the ACC title game, which is being played for the 12th time. Junior college transfer Jerod Evans has been a big key. He beat out last year's backup, Brenden Motley, at quarterback and ended up setting Tech's single-season record for touchdown passes (26) and total offense (3,752). Evans has a great arsenal of receivers in that Isaiah Ford has 69 receptions for 949 yards, Cam Phillips 58 for 776 and Bucky Hodges 42 for 598. Clemson has a challenge on their hands with this Virginia Tech team. The Hokies can put up points and if the Tigers look the same as they did against Pitt, an upset is quite possible. Look for this game to come down to the last few minutes with Deshaun Watson in position again to pull off some magic for the Tigers maybe squeak out a very close W, but certainly not a point spread cover.
