Newsletter Tracking (through 9/30/18)
Not every newsletter gets posted every week, and I'll try to note when the record doesn't include every week of the season.
Another note is that the grading is based on the line indicated in the newsletter at the time of publication, not the closing line. Many of these newsletters will claim a win against the best available line as it moves throughout the week, but these records reflect the outcome against the line they were willing to make a play on in their newsletter.

MEGALOCKS
Missouri at South Carolina – College Football Predictions
The Game
Get ready for some sweet under-the-radar SEC East action on Saturday at the Tigers travel to Columbia to take on the Gamecocks. South Carolina had a really disappointing effort vs Kentucky last week and could not build on their win over Vanderbilt in the previous game. Missouri is coming off a bye week and when we last saw them in action they were giving YOUR Georgia Bulldogs all they could handle……until Georgia seemed to score a defensive TD on every third play.
Can Missouri pick up an SEC road win?
The Details
South Carolina -2 Missouri (64.5)
MEGALOCKS LINE – Missouri -2.5
“Vegas” Implied Projected Score: South Carolina 33.25 Missouri 31.25
The Match-Up:
Missouri offense vs South Carolina defense
Drew Lock is one of the most talented QBs in college football and is off to a really good start. Lock has completed 63% of his passes with a fine 11-2 TD to INT ratio and that includes a game against Georgia. The Missouri OL is still one of the best kept secrets in college football as they have only allowed three sacks so far this year (13 the entire 2017 season) and that means trouble for the South Carolina pass defense. The Cocks are having a hard time getting PENETRATION (7 sacks) and are not forcing many turnovers (5). The Tigers’ WR group should be able to do serious damage in this game and look out if they get Emanuel Hall back and healthy (23.9 YPC). The running game is also sneaky good as they are averaging almost 200 yards per game and have a DEEP set of RBs to carry the load. South Carolina is going to need to find a way to force a few fumbles and/or make some red zone stops to keep themselves in the game. Unlikely, but certainly not impossible.
South Carolina offense vs Missouri defense
What in the SAM HILL is going on with QB Jake Bentley? Mr Bentley has a suspect 7-6 TD to INT ratio, and while the WR group has dropped a lot of passes, the passing offense is just not clicking. They are going to need to fix things on Saturday because the Missouri run defense is really good. You have to beat them though the air, but then again, Purdue couldn’t beat Missouri at home when they threw for 572 yards. There are some injuries among the Gamecocks’ passing game threats but they certainly have the talent to jump up and perform in this game. One thing to note is that our SOUTH CAROLINA STRUGGLING QB INSIDERS have noted that they may go with an inexperienced Michael Scarnecchia at QB or at least get him in the game PRONTO if Bentley gets off to a poor start. Everyone LOVES the back-up QB no matter what team we are talking about so maybe that gives them a spark?
Trends, Intangibles and More!
South Carolina has an 11-5 SU mark at home under HC Muschamp…..The Tigers have been poor on the road under HC Odom but did beat a pretty desperate Purdue team away from home earlier this season.
Summary
It’s hard to imagine Missouri losing this game if they avoid mistakes and crapping the bed with turnovers. South Carolina is in a tough spot mentally right now because they have no shot at winning the SEC East (lost to Kentucky and Georgia) and nobody is happy with the way things are going. They have had a long season so far even though it’s only early October. They had the yuuuuuge game with Georgia, had the distraction of hurricane week and a cancelled game, got fired up vs Vandy when their HC made some dumb comments and just finished losing to Kentucky AGAIN. Missouri should be the sharper squad coming in off a bye with time to get healthy.
Conclusion
Official play: Missouri +2 -110 (play down to pick ’em).Comment
