Anyone who has followed me for any period knows I don’t take a favorite of this size very often but when I feel the line is off by 30-40 cents I will do so. Here is why I feel the price is warranted to take the Dodgers tonight. First off we have Kershaw on the mound. In 13 road starts he has a ERA of 2.03 and a WHIP of 0.98. Next consider that Quintana goes for the Cubs and he did pitch good in his first meeting against the Dodgers but it must be noted the Dodgers hadn’t faced him since 2014 giving him an edge. Now the Dodgers will be facing him for a second time in a week. Here’s the biggest factor in the difference of why the line should be a lot higher. Quintana has gone 6 innings or less in 13 of his last 15 starts. The Cubs are at a huge disadvantage tonight in the Bullpen department as the Cubs used all their key pieces last night but most importantly Wade Davis recorded a 6 out save on 48 pitches making his availability not likely or if they call on him he won’t be at his best. Should the Dodgers be in a save situation Jansen is rested and ready to close this out. Just given the bullpen advantage tonight is worth the extra 30-40 cents in the line. Let’s not forget that even in last nights win the Cubs scored just 3 runs and that’s now 3 runs or less in 8 of their last 9 games. I have LA winning 6-3.
